So now the spread goes down and QB Brice is supposed to be a great QB. We are screwed. I don't get it anymore

The long layoff should mean our guys will be excited to play but the cold, damp weather will zap their strength.

Miami 28 Duke 21 FINAL (OT)

Are we made of chocolate, just strap your helmet and do what we need to do. I'm tired of hearing how the weather as that much of impact on the game. Just win dammit. This ain't baseball or tennis. Grow a pair.

Really important to play well and dominate this game.

We all know what's on the line here....3 more wins (yes, assuming they're played as currently scheduled, which is a definite assumption) gets us into a NY6 bowl, most likely. A loss, and we will not be in the NY6. So we have to go 3-0, and we have to do it somewhat convincingly against Duke and GT. The UNC game can just be a win, however it happens. But there is a chance we miss out on the NY6 at 10-1 if we slog through the next 3 weeks, even if they're wins.

Bottom line, don't leave this up to chance. 3-0 probably gets us into a NY6 game regardless, but maybe not if we struggle against ****** teams like Duke and GT. Go beat both of them by 3+ scores, and beat UNC by any means necessary, and we are locked into a really good bowl game, a 10-1 regular season and a chance to have some real momentum headed into next season, as well as keep/add to what's shaping up as a pretty good looking class.

First quarter might be rough to watch but I think Miami wins by 14. I'd love a blowout obviously but I just don't think it will happen.

Duke always plays us tough and I don't see why Saturday night would be any different given the circumstances. Duke has had a miserable year but they will be prepared and fired up to knock off a top 10 team in primetime. I'm expecting a dog fight.

I'm not saying for a second that we shouldn't handle them, but I think people see 2-7 and will underestimate them. This will be their last game and how better for them to end a season with some optimism. They will be motivated.

has the uniform thread been started already? how about the long walk to the locker room thread? or the tampon v tampex debate thread?

it is shocking and appalling that anyone would be discussing the weather as it relates to the potential outcome of this game.

Cold and wet is impossible to duplicate. There will be Miami players who are uncomfortable, distracted, and even disinterested because of it. The weather should not decide the outcome but it may affect how good we look. We looked and played like SHlT under similar circumstances in 2019.

I doubt the players care as much as we do about playing in a NY6 bowl. It's the job of the staff to motivate them but these kids are not huddling together firing themselves up about winning out so they can finish in the top 10 and play in the Orange Bowl. For them it's an opportunity to showcase their abilities but knowing that there is no chance of winning the conference will limit their enthusiasm. Hope I'm wrong about that.
