Miami’s Defense in the NFL Draft

I know we typically like to think highly of our guys but instead in this thread we've decided to take the bleakest view possible.

I disagree with plenty but the main ones are Bryce is the truth and Armondo is 19 and will be a monster.

Yeah we need somebody there that can get us in form... I thought toure would atleast have the system down and could atleast be a be a leader but its hard to do that if you aint making plays yourself

Its clear as day we need a qb on the defense ASAP
 
- Lightfoot, Blount, OJ, OConnor, and Thornton will return.

- Justin Scott will return if he's projected 3rd round or lower.

- Wilson and Moten 2nd rounders if we make the CFP.
- Xavier Lucas and Poyser will be a 3rd-5th rounder.
- Toure maybe makes a practice squad for a year or two. Smith doesn't.
- Damari will portal out.
- Wiley will portal out if he doesn't earn starting job by mid/end of this season (before playoffs) and not due to injury.
- Pruitt, Day, Ewald, and Mack will portal out.


Next yr Fitzgerald moves to Poyser role, Dunnigan starts in role he did against Wake. Blount and Lightfoot starting Edges again. Portal DT is highest priority of off-season along with QB.

You don’t have Marcelin starting over those two ? He’s currently ahead of them both when healthy. Wild

We would poyser leave to be fifth rounder, he probably makes more right now.. He coming back for sure. Both are most likely

Its also obvious one of Poyser or Thornton would be getting reduced snaps next yr to get Dunnigan on the field. Thornton would probably be udfa. He would only leave by portal. I think Poyser leaves. If he returns that is great for us though, I think Dunnigan would mostly eat into Thornton's snaps...

But we are definitely going to lose unexpected players. Justin Scott is the big one. We already have critical need for portal DT imo and thats even if Scott returns...
I'm not worried about DB at all for next yr. LB I'm very interested to see how it plays out. If Wiley and Pruitt claim big roles by end of the regular season I'd be very happy for what it means next season. I doubt staff does it though. So big changes could be coming at LB.
 
At this point, due to circumstances (injuries), I think it’s going to be very interesting to see who goes and stays. OJ and Lucas were all but locked in to leave early, but now?

Same with Scott and Lightfoot. Are they slam dunk 1st or 2nd rounders at this point?

Obviously a lot can and will change, especially if we make a deep run in the playoffs.
