First of all I have been a Hurricane Fan since the late 70's and Shaq going to the U had to be his choice not mine. What impress my wife and I the most was meeting Mark Richt at UGA, but ultimately UM won out because on no other visits did we see the Family Love like we saw at Miami. The love not from the current team and coaches but from the former players we would see on the number of visits... Edge, Jimmy Grahm, Beason, Vilma, DJ William's, Andre Johnson (never start naming names cause you always leave someone significant out) but to make a point we would always see these guys...and they would be like ok I'm home. I've been known to run on so keeping it shorter... The U was home for us we felt it...Now that Richt is at the helm it's a happy home. Warning this site can become brutal at times and I was advised early on to hush and not make myself known...it was some good advise I didn't follow...but for the most part all here love the U but have different ways of expressing that love..and if you been on more than 3 days you already know. You have an obligation to help your son to make the best decision he can landing at a place that will be the best fit for him. I'm here to say that UM was that fit for us... If I had to do it all over again knowing what I know now...our only visit would have been to UM. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me... I agree 100%! Some people stop seeing these players as someone's kid who has feelings and still trying to figure out "life" and start seeing them as an object who is obligated to play for THEM! They go too far and do too much. I'm PRAYING my eyes are blocked from the foolery.
 
Nothing but deepest respect to the families of our players and recruits who are so deeply committed to their boys. Just a great, great group of people on here like UknowWhat, Brooklyn, Tweed, Wayne. As fans, we are blessed and spoiled by your pride, passion and insights. Thank you and best of luck to all of your sons.

IMHO, coaches like Manny, Richt and Simpson are truly special in that they are not only masters of their trade, they are men of highest integrity and will go the extra mile for their kids. Braxton Berrios and the Patriots. Chad Thomas and the Browns. Those were no flukes. That was the coaches talking up their kids and giving the NFL the back story behind why these Canes will be the best pick they could make. This isn't just a job for them, it's a calling to develop young men.

Top 50 school, best school south of Duke, your pick of NFL HOFers to mentor your son, South Florida weather and beaches, incredible administration and academic support system. All new facilities and dorms. And Coach Mark Richt.

Yes, it's a business. But it's also about quality of life and long-term happiness. With this staff, set of players (what incredible young men and future leaders!) and administration, there is no better school in the country to call your Alma Mater.
 
I'm happy Papa Shaq and Elijah's Biggest Fan made it known on here, IT WAS THEIR SON'S DECISION!! The reason I stress that on here is because these fans FORGET that the RECRUITS are the ones who make the decision where they are going to play.. JUST like they make the decision where they are going to visit and commit to.. It's very crazy that grown ups make it hard to believe that, these decisions are made by the RECRUIT'S and not the parents, coaches, friends, relatives and etc!!

It's the parents, family, of the students,.. Its the alumni who post here,..its the poeple otherwise involved directly with the program, who post on these boards, that bring this sitet full circle!! It's former players who post here,.. (And call it conspiracy theory, but I believe at least 1, if not more if our coaches, frequent this site. I dont know if they post or not, names or nothing else of substance....hence the conspiracy theory)

What makes the parents involvement, like no other, is personal!!!! ...now we have a voice to tie to the young man we watch on saturday. When theses kids go out, and do what they do, to help the community, I patient in a hospital, a youth program, a school,.... Now we know the people, responsible for raising these young men.
Youre no longer poster number....your part of our success story! Its personal!! It means something!! Its in the now!!
