Mensah Magic

Some of you MFs on here don’t understand the English language.
Whoever said he was “awful” last week is a ******* moron. There are many words and expressions between elite and awful that could’ve been used to accurately describe him last week. He was off. He was not his normal elite self. His play wasn’t as good as normal.

Dude threw for over 300 with 3 TDs a (bad) pick and a high completion percentage while getting pressured all night.

Some of you need to regrow your peeniz and ballz. Get a grip meng.

Ridiculously high standards for the young man. It was his worst game of the season and he was still quite good.

HOWEVER, pressured all night is a stretch. I think I saw somewhere he had an average of 3 seconds per pass. He was indecisive and ran into pressure consistently. Dawson needs to get him taking what the defense gives him like he did against Stanford and the first half of Wake. Something changed at halftime of the wake game.

Mali lol

You're saying the Mali injury is what changed things?
Think Mensah locks on to Mali heavily, so in that game when he was out we had nothing but 3 and outs.. FSU he locked on him a few times other guys were wide open even if Mali was doubled and the ball should go else where.. If he natually goes thru progression offense would flow better, he needs to get over this hump because even tho Mali is a cheat code you dont want to get too drunk off of it because offense is much more dangerous when the ball is spread around.

Not a stretch. He attempted 34 passes and FSU recorded 14 pressures and a sack. Was there room for improvement? Yep. Better options at times? Yep. He's not putting up video game stats because some of the DCs we've faced have chagned up looks. Mensah isn't perfect and has plenty of areas to improve. Overall he's been excellent/elite. Last game he was decent, but it was indeed his worst game here....and if worst game is 23/34 for 326 with 3 TD and 1 INT, I'll take it 100/100 times.

Now, just to keep it 100 and so that I don't come off as Darian's dad, if his numbers continue to trend downward, things will begin nearing concern status.

I don't know if Mensah does or does not, but he would be kinda stupid not to, no? I don't mean tunnel vision lock on to Mali, but I can 100% guarantee you that if I'm playing QB (GD that's a funny thought), I'm looking for Mali most plays too. I think Joe Montana would do the same.

Obviously there is no problem to look for Mali, he is THAT dude.. But sometimes you have to take what the defense gives you and they guess right.. If Mali is standing there covered with two guys on him and you just stand there patting the ball when another guy has none, if bogs down the offense and we cant execute.. Mali will get his and more if the defense feels like the ball spreads around, if its a one man show and you cant come off read then it becomes a problem.. Like with Beck Mali was still that dude but take for example Ole Miss game, they had multiple guys react to mali underneath and Beck found Marion on in cut for big plays late..

Let me try to find examples so people can chose to understand

Sorry for fsu commentary but only one I could find of all 22 on this 4th and 2 play where Mensah locks on to Mali as he runsa choice route with TWO FSU guys on him while Upshaw runs like a inside curl or in route behind him wide open for first down but better play for Mensah is to stand in pocket and pat ball waiting for Mali? Then scramble and throw diving duck to Mallory also open for first down

I will add this so you can see how the play should work in Mali takes two, you still have to play QB and take what defense give s you, Believe me Dawson comments in presser are not for no reason. I know we love Mali but not to detriment of staying on field for 4th down, Similar play

I was expecting a GIF of Jared Lorenzen wearing a Hurricanes uni followed by "Is this you playing QB BDDaddy?"

As for what you actually replied with, yeah I get it. And not to play Mensah's daddy (again), but you can do that with a ton of replays. Yes, I believe you understand that too. I see what you're saying. Without running through all 80 plays or so that we ran and compiling the data, there's no real way to know if he really is locking on to Mali or not. On that particular play, yep sure looked like it. And yes, I saw Upshaw wide open too.
