Mensah, Fletcher, Toney

Marion was open, that throw needed to go to the pylon

He also didnt have to throw it

Thats where not having Lofton hurt last night
I thought that as well, Lofton being out really hurt us. I know he hasn’t lived up to expectations but he has come through a couple times.

Josh Moore or Somourian Wingo are gonna have a huge year. They just need to make sure they dedicate themselves to being physical and blocking so they can stay on the field and make big plays when it's needed.
Do we have the coaching at that position to develop guys?

Yeah, we don't need Andre Johnson or Calvin Johnson. Hankerson would work
Why not? Why cant University of Miami strive for that.. Last night freaking Indiana was able to stay in base defense with 3 LB all first have and not feel threatened at all, had their safeties playing downhill and squeezing all short routes..

We need to rethink how we value WR and do something different, last night first half was embarrassing for a school of UM caliber. People are too quick to dismiss us continuing to upgrade positions. I thank Marion and CJ, they gave us incredible play but we should strive to get better, the mindset that we are fine also at TE is why we lost. I hope Bauman is not asked back, he is not even like playing 10 on 11, is is more like 10 on 12. I will be haunted by that effort on punt safe like he was on the take.

I think there's a chance we'll be better next year than this year.

I won't worry about the OL until Mario gives me a reason to worry.

Toney stepped up as a true freshman, and I'm not saying Wingo or Spafford are going to have a Toney/like season, however, they both bring dynamics that we're missing offensively.

DL- I'm excited to see another year of development for guys like Scott, Moten and Blount. I think all of them were good this year and made plays. Lightfoot getting another year under this defense where he can be a Swiss Army knife along the LOS. And getting Hayden Lowe back is something that can't be overlooked.

DBs -Obviously, missing Jakobe and Keionte willl hurt, but more Bryce, and the outside DBs are set. Intrigued by what Slime can do.

In the past offseason, we knew the offense would take a step back, it was whether or not the defense can improve enough. And it did.
I think Mensah raises the floor and ceiling of the offense to be more like 2024 than 2025

Replacing 4 OL

Replacing Bain + Mesi

Replacing Thomas + Scott

They’ll prob be a rando portal entry or 2 we’re not expecting.

Lots of work to do to reload

You still need more than that. You desperately need a big body number 1 wr that demands attention that’s explosive and can run routes and run deep. If not they will crowd the box again. Vs great playoffs teams that’s not enough imo. Vs the acc yea that works but we want more than the acc

If we get Seaton and Cantwell at tackle, Samson, McCoy at guard. Rodriguez if he gets Med RS at Center. Also Tommy Kinsler playing with a couple others for depth we'll be good.

Really looking forward to seeing Hayden Lowe in spring, he's a beast. Let's get Damon Wilson to pair with him. Blount DE/DT, Lightfoot, Pickett, Scroggins, McConathy (he looked good as a Freshman in the spring)

DT - Scott/Moten are a good pairing. Will need some younger players to step up for depth.

Overall - there's lots of talent, but they are going to have to prove it on the field.

1st half was proof of how vital a top notch outside guy is. They got away with some physicality but we needed someone to create space and win regardless.

Replacing the OL will be tough, but on the positive side Samson and McCoy both got starter reps this season. So losing 4 might only be like losing 3, no that that is ideal either.

Far and away the best QB RB and WR in the ACC and we’ll be favored in every game that isn’t ND.

I’m not sold on us fixing the OL and DL to look even close to what we had this year but that trio gives you a chance at another Cam level offense
I think our trenches will still be very strong! I think the potential of having an explosive and dangerous O with a D that I believe will be improved in the back 7 as.a whole, will put us in the playoffs again and then who knows what happens.

Scott is a returning starter. Lightfoot started 1-2 games when Mesidor was out. 100% need Moten. If we retain Bell, our OL could be dang good.

Mensah
Bell
Moten
Wilson

That gets us close with the returning players.
Its not insane to say that losing Mauigoa who is a top of the draft guy, your center, maybe Bell, and Cooper is a ton to replace. Thankfully the other guys have been playing.

On the DL, there is no chance that Lightfoot can play all downs. He's a heat seeking missile on pass plays but holding the edge at that wieght will be tough. We need Lowe or others with some bulk. And we desperately need to keep Moten - he may be the most important guy we can bring back in my view.

When you have 3 returners on the DL like Moten, Scott, and Blount, you can run a 3/4 with Lightfoot more.

That’s true, and Rodriguez has played. Really need to land Seaton

We just saw a generational DL. We will have a strong DL next year but you can't replace a player like Bain.
