There won't be a jump in to the top 25. This week for the one loss canes , who now have wins over Charlotte, Michigan state, and @UMASS. The hurricanes will play UCF on Tuesday night in Orlando. Keith Clanton has been on quite an impressive run, winning conference USA player of the week last week and having an 85% field goal percentage over the last 2.

UCF is probably better than UMass, theyve got a complete team except for lacking a good PG. Physically they can nearly match up, and Clanton is a freaking beast. THis will be a good road win should we get it.

UCF is certainly no slouch and should have a good crowd on hand. Hopefully Reggue decides to show up. I think if Scott can just be Scott and everyone keeps turnovers to a minimum we should walk.

We didn't even gain ONE vote from last week after beating and undefeated Charlotte team.....wtf

A win @ucf and winning at least the first round in Hawaii should get us there next week. We are Miami though so who knows.

Lose to Arizona tonight and probably won't be ranked, but hopefully a 2-1 week with 2 impressive road wins and a lose to the #4 team in the nation and we gain votes. Win the 3rd place game and hopefully we're ranked heading into LaSalle and GT. Beat Zona and we're ranked, probably Top 18-20.

Going 2-1, with 2 impressive blowout road wins, and a loss to the now #3 team in the nation, meant Miami actually lost ground, and now isn't even receiving any votes in either poll. We're 8-2 with an RPI of #10, with our only losses when we were missing our best players, one loss to the #3 team and we're basically not a top 40 team according to the voters. I'm not saying we should be ranked, but some acknowledgement would be nice.

Hopefully the team takes notice that no one is giving them credit and plays at a level that will force the voters to take notice. Beat Indiana St, LaSalle and GT and we should be ranked heading into the UNC game, but who knows.

Keep everybody healthy, beat the ones we are supposed to beat, avoid any more FGC surprises, and get the occasional upset. I like seeing us ranked too but we all know how biased those rankings are anyway. After yesterday's beatdown, today's game is key. Let's see how the guys respond against Indiana State.

My question is why do people care about being ranked when all that matters is rpi and sos...and we are doing phenomenal in both of those.

We'd be a top 5-6 seed as of right now.

We know it means nothing in the grand scheme of things, but recruits and casual fans notice, they see the scores on the ESPN ticker, the highlights on sportscenter. Any exposure helps. If we were Kentucky, and got 25,000 regardless of rank, and any recruit we wanted regardless of rank, it wouldn't be as big a deal, but we're not.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. RPI is all that matters
