Memphis vs ucf

They kicked a good Auburn team to the curb last year...
They won all their games this season despite losing their entire coaching staff and a bunch of players to the draft and graduation... and loss of their leaders including QB to injury...

Trust me, no contender will play the m next few years...

No matter what, you have to respect them...
Good post bro, and good points

Last year’s Auburn game is irrelevant. Their best win was against a 6-loss Pittsburgh team. That speaks for itself.

i dont get it...You can tell the guys that havent watched them much or are alumni.

They are hanging their hat on a bowl win against Auburn (overratted) and beating Memphis twice. Repeat that in your head a few times.
We got posters i respect saying they would have the same record as Oklahoma?. A whole lot of Stephen A hottakes going on.

We would beat them this year....and we beat ND last year since we hanging hats on last year wins who is in the playoff this year. Maybe we deserve a shot int he playoffs.

We won in 2001 bro, let us in!

The playoffs should be expanded to 8 teams... and get rid of some the crappy bowls..

UCF media is good at spinning stories. For instance their is an article that beating a 3-8 Alabama team is their biggest win in school history... bc they beat bama.... but like 7 other team beat bama that year too. bama sucked that year and it's "their biggest win in school history" UCF is just really funny. They are like the drunk uncle, but not racist or anything, just a hilarious drunk.

More like they are a sloppy drunk chick who thinks they are a dime but a real life 6.

Yep, 8 teams, winner of each conference automatic, leaves 3 at large, 1 will pretty much always go to SEC, then 2 more, that way when you have a non P5 that ain't lost in 2 years you can throw em there, cuts out a whole lotta crying and actually gives you a TRUER champion. Hey if you can't get in with 8 we'll mail you some kleenex

Is the UCF resentment stronger here because we suck and they’re a FL team that is somewhat relevant? (Notice I didn’t say they were good).. They should’ve had a shot to get their asses whooped in the playoffs so that future garbage conference front runners can understand their place. Though 25 straight is an accomplishment, I can’t take that away from them..

Now they get matched up with LSU who honestly isn’t that good, and their big heads will continue to get bigger until nexts year’s playoff selection.. They’re developing a recruiting base in the state, and won’t just disappear...

What keeps them out of a P5 ? Looks like they could join the ACC, what does it take for a team like them to jump to a bigger conference, nobody seems to know

I think they may have a larger scale plan in the works to continue to sustain their success and grow fan support and program strength. Also having one of the largest schools in the country while being a public school benefits them. I can see an ACC jump in 5 years if they maintain success..

Uhhh, no. First Miami & FSU are in the ACC, why would the ACC have any interest in another Florida school?? UCF's fan base is still tiny, they still don't fill a small stadium and have very little if any national appeal aside from being a sideshow. As for recruiting, what kid is going to commit to UCF after two years of getting nothing, in reality, to show for their efforts?

After reading some of the responses to this thread I’m thoroughly convinced some of you have no concept of what conferences are trying to accomplish.

The ACC has like 4 schools in NC why not a third in Florida, the hub of football talent?

Like I said in my previous post, UCF would need sustained success over a period of time.. Every thing is for the sake of cash. Assuming they maintain success, grow their program, and fan base I can see the jump to a larger conference/ a larger conference wanting to take them on.

Honestly they could probably grow a strong fan base just based on the size of their school alone, once people realize they have a winner they might become the most annoying fan base in the state. Additionally UCF has recently started picking up a larger amount 3 and 4 star recruits... not something they've normally done in the past(you can fact check me on ESPN 300). I would expect that trend to continue, with sustained success.

I can’t believe I’m actually defending UCF here on a bunch of “ifs & buts”, but for you to implicitly express that there is no way for UCF to actually grow as a program and move on to a bigger conference is ridiculous to me. Miami was once a joke of a school and football team.. That changed... Things change.

We for sure have better players than UCF but since when does that matter when Mork is your coach. He got beat how many times this year by teams with way less talent ? Heipel(sp) can actually game plan and coach, make necessary adjustments etc. Mork is playing musical QB's throughout the year, never settles on one so the O can form a cohesive unit. Yea Memphis is not some big p5, but UCf (Heipel) makes the halftime adjustments and comes out and settles the score and wins the game, Mork don't adjust, Manny does though. UCF would have done just as good with our sked this year as we did, it was a joke, and embarrassing that The U lost with such a talent advantage. This year we don't beat UCF on neutral ground, those guys play their azzes off and refuse to quit, our Mork boys roll over in that situation, and that's totally on Mork, not the players

Tex, I totally agree with you.

UCF needs to bite the bullet and scrap a home game off their regular season schedule to go play a top team. They have not been willing to give up one of their seven regular season home games with the excuse that they are trying to build up and "engage" their fan base. "Beggars can't be choosers" though. Either go and play a top team on a neutral field or they will always be on the outside looking in. We all know why they do not want to play a regular season game against a top team though. They will most likely be ran off the field and they will no longer be able to make their fake NC claims.

You are correct. Back in the "old" days, that is exactly how both Miami & FSU did it.....played anybody, anytime, anywhere.

You are absolutely correct. Hey, I am old enough that I remember when FSU was only a teacher's school for women. UF refused to initially play FSU as they felt they were too far beneath them in the college football arena.....Things do indeed change.
