Me thinks you’re going to see a “Wow holy **** Miami’s D is elite” type Miami defense this year. Pair that with a 1st rounder at QB & who knows 🤷🏻‍♂️ I will also say another thing. We win at A&M and the whole nation is gonna be hanging from our nuts.

Listen to him on the Action Network podcast. He’s being serious. They also power rate Miami in the top 10. He’s not high on Clemson or A&M.
 
LEGIT EVERYTHING would have to go our way for anything close for that to happen. Such as injuries, favorable calls in big games(lol), a few breakouts specifically at WR, EDGE, and someone besides Zion on the OL. I mean it’s already been rough with the injuries and we haven’t even made it to the season. Definitely not a good start that’s for sure. We “should” win the coastal but say that everything year. I don’t think Clemson is as great as some on here seem to think but they are a more talented team. I’m just not a big fan of their QB. I think he’s very mid…. Their DL is going to be nasty though.
 
Bring on the heat....I'm good with being spared as a sacrificial lamb to Bama in the Semis...

Much rather trade places with NCST and have more than a good chance to end the season on a high after winning a NY6 Bowl game.

Making the CFP and losing by 30 in the semis doesn't do nearly as much for our program as winning a NY6 bowl game to end the season.

This is so dumb.

The headline “Mario takes Miami to CFP in first year” is worth its weight in gold. Idc how bad you get beat in the semis.

I think 10 wins is doable. Having a real coaching staff the whole offseason alone is worth a win or two. We’ll have the best QB on the field in almost every game. And, if they can stay healthy, we have wave after wave of dlinemen to roll out there. Those are three big advantages.
 
I love my Canes but I really really want what McMurphy is smoking. Playoffs? PPP-Playoffs? Our WRs can't make any plays and this guy's talking about Playoffs?

I understand your point but I'd rather go 11-3 with a NY6 Orange Bowl win and the headline

"Mario wins Orange Bowl in 1st year AR Alma mater"

......as opposed to "Mario takes Miami to CFP in first year but Canes get ragdolled by Bama...

Or

"Canes not ready for Big Stage as Bama Rolls"

Or

....."Bama introduces Miami to Big Time football as Bama throttles Canes in dominate win "......

and the list goes on and on....

I'd much rather be the 2021 version of Baylor than the 2021 version of Michigan.

I'd like to see the responses on a poll to a question like this....because imo it'd be almost a dead even 50/50 split

I have said this many times in the last few months and I will say it again. If people think TVD has a good chance at the Heisman then those people should also think we have a chance at the playoffs. The two usually go hand-in-hand.

Someone like McMurphy is probably just remembering how LSU turned things around with major philosophy and coaching changes within a year's time. Maybe he truly believes TVD will have a Joe Burrow type of magical season where everything just goes right.

Realism, luck, and guts will go a far way................but we need a little more to take us to the Playoffs........we will get there, but it is working and building mode that will pay off and help us on that journey............we are not there yet....
