McCloud to start over Ragone at Linebacker

Why is everyone blaming Head Coach Manny of the NEW MIAMI for the Linebacker issues? It’s not his fault he came over from Temple and the OLD MIAMI players on the roster didn’t fit his scheme and haven’t developed at all. Or that the previous Linebackers coach/Defensive coordinator failed to recruit depth at the position for the past 3 years.

Blame our former Defensive Coordinator and Linebackers Coach of the OLD MIAMI Manny Diaz.

Once NEW MIAMI Manny has a chance to recruit NEW MIAMI guys and gets rid of OLD MIAMI Manny's recruits that represent OLD MIAMI, we’ll finally be able to judge him.

*This is a conversation I believe Blake James and his team have had with NEW MIAMI Manny.

That's an exaggeration lol. I thought Charles Perry would be a bust. Keon Cain was obviously not good enough to play at Miami. Brooks could be valuable but I'm skeptical that he will meet the fan expectations in his current role.

Assuming my athletic eval of Brooks is correct he will struggle as an off-ball LB. This staff doesn't really develop players but in theory he could learn the technique to make the position change...it's moreso the hip tightness and lateral movement limitations I've seen that make me doubt it.

Just move Brooks to outside. Shaq can tell him what to do. Brooks has the speed.

The outside LB has more coverage responsibilities and has to get the edge to make tackles. It's better that Brooks play outside with his speed. Not a big deal IMO. Outside is easier to learn than inside. The MLB makes all the defensive calls. I like Shaq there and Brooks outside.
