McCloud to start over Ragone at Linebacker

To me, the argument that Brooks wasn't as ready to fill in for Pinckney, rather than having Ragone do so, is pretty flawed in 2 ways.

First, while I understand that adjusting to a new position from high school was already difficult, so learning a second LB position was a lot for Brooks, do we not ask the same of some of our freshmen at other positions (like Jakai Clark at C and G, or Couch at nickel CB and outside CB)? This is especially true given the fact that we had all the injuries at LB and with the intent to redshirt McCloud. It's not like we had some loaded LB position where we had the luxury of bringing Brooks along slowly, we needed him to be able to go into the game at either position.

Second, if Brooks wasn't ready, then play him at MLB and move Shaq to play Pinckney's spot. Shaq is a senior and certainly should be expected to know both positions. For all of Shaq's limitations physically, there is absolutely zero doubt in my mind that I would rather play Brooks and Shaq than Shaq and Ragone. Playing Ragone in a close game should be a last resort, not the Plan B for the position.
 
I GUARANTEE if they’d played McCloud late last game and Pinckney was out this week the same people ripping him for sitting him would be ripping him for playing him last week.

Jesus Christ there’s a lot to ***** about but get an ounce of perspective about some decisions made.

Because that counts as a game and why would u burn his shirt to play 2 quarters..and then not have home this week for a full game..

I kept trying to explain a striker isn’t a lb lol, but you can’t tell these folks nothing in the off season.

It’s hilarious too because back then I just wanted to talk ball intelligently, not like I was saying it’s the end of the world I just wanted to discuss the situation, options, contingency, etc. But I got laughed at for having the audacity to suggest that maybe there might be a small cause for some concern......nope, everything is roses. Now those same people complain about everything from the QB to the length of the grass lmao.
 
Didn't useless Blake ( I know, they are both useless) say Ragone played good and he was around the ball and they were very happy with his play?

Depth is fine if we are healthy, but BJ Jennings, Waymon Steed, Patrick Joyner all got injured and Huff was t eligible to play this year. Bit of bad luck, that being said they should have played Brooks at all positions and or a striker instead of Ragone

Steed and Jennings were injured before summer. Huff was nowhere near ready , he was 200 pounds.

Bad depth was staring them in the face in spring
