maybe this is reality

I'm just going off as someone who attended UM for 8 years 4 for under grad then 4 for medical school and the info I get talking to guys I know back at miami at this time gives me this feeling.

of course this is a message board and people share their thoughts and ideas

if you hate it you don't need to read

Get it through your thick skulls. QB's CONTROL FOOTBALL AT BOTH THE NCAA & NFL LEVEL.

Do you not comprehend that Bama, will all that talent, was going to lose the title had they not replaced their QB.

but do you believe our school will make CRM make changes?

I personally don't believe it will. Hopefully something is happening behind closed doors with our AD and the head man

Probably not, that was the whole deal they worked out before the hire. Richt is at his own freedom to make his outdated, old man football decisions without having to be micromanaged by people that don't even coach.

as much as we hate saban, he's not much different than jimmy when he was at miami
i can almost guarantee he would have won 4-5 ships if he had stayed at the u for 10-15 years

This has been and remains my largest fear. We are just happy to be mediocre and are focused on other areas like academics.

I hear you, but I don't think you spend a pile of money on an indoor facility, and $4 million per year on a coach, if you're "just happy to be mediocre."

All I'm saying is, don't overthink it. We got our butts kicked because we have trash at the QB position. It is what it is. Maybe they can get that fixed and we can go on to have a great season. Maybe not. But I don't think it's any deeper than that.

Every action Miami has taken since 2000 indicates they have no interest in being an elite football school.

the only reason we were interested from 1983-2000 is bc that paid the bills for literally everything else. Now with profit sharing of tv money, UM has zero need to be good at football. And so they will pretend like we are competing, and even sucker people by hiring “big time SEC coach Mark richt”, but ultimately Miami ever being Miami again will only come by happy accident.

The admin BOT and boosters DO NOT CARE.

Bc they spend no money and have zero standards or demands.

You think Bamas boosters would have accepted Mark D’Ono for 5 years???

**** we needed a public campaign just to get an IPF!!!

Our best “booster” was a goddam midget criminal ponzi schemer.

for many ignorance truly is bliss.......
for most schools especially ones that are trying to reach the upper echelons of academia football is not at the top of the agenda

Honestly the biggest issue I see is SEC schools + Clemson and Ohio State have begun to spend ridiculously on football. Whatever the cost, just win is their objective. When your defensive coordinators are making $2M+ and your coach is making $8M , and you have a literal army of recruiters (and evaluators) you begin to pull away. Miami is private and we do not spend. Honestly even FSU and Florida are being left in the dust. A good coach (Richt is only average) could have Miami perennially winning the coastal, but beating Clemson for the ACC will be crazy hard, beating Bama/Georgia/OSU for a Natty will be next to impossible. Mind you anything is possible. But highly unlikely.

Lulz, what happened Sunday sucks but we will have way better teams than this the next few years. That’s what happens when you have 15 and 16 type classes as your junior and seniors. We had some studs in those classes but the filler is straight boo boo. Wait til 17 and 18 are in the same spot. Sure, then coaching will be the problem but we will be way better than this....
WEVe been saying this since the last NC. Never gets old.

again tell me what you intimately know of admins that do support their programs vs those that don't. What has Miami specifically done that supports your theory.

exactly because its really difficult its more realistic that we win 8-9 games a year compete for the coastal and occasionally win the conference
that is the epitome of CMR and he will def keep the program clean and keep us away from bad press

this is more imp as we keep trying to become the stanford of the east

As opposed to the person whom the IPF is named after...please.just.stop.

I speak with colleagues who are dept chairs and well respected surgeons and attending physicians at Miller and they are tied into the top decision makers and talking to them they won't come out and say it directly but thats the vibe I get.

I don't think we're that far away at all. Only SEEMS that way since LSU took us to the woodshed a couple days ago.

We have talent. We just need to keep recruiting like we did last cycle, get more talent at OL and DL, and get a QB who can actually get the ball to the playmakers we have on offense.

In reality though, we're only a few pieces away.
