as much as we ***** and moan and dream about the U that we saw growing up

maybe the reality is that were gonna be a 8-9 win team year in and year out with an occasional 10 win team.

Now with the ACC money and TV deals as long as we stay ranked in the top 20 without any major off the field issues the school admins will be happy.

we aren't a state school that is completely defined by football like the sec redneck schools. it appears UM in interested in becoming a true academic leader and just having a team that is above respectable seems like the sad reality

I feel the schools ultimate goal is to be more Stanford than Bama.

All I'm saying is what we want as fans may not match up with what the school admins want.

I hope I am wrong.

I don't think we're that far away at all. Only SEEMS that way since LSU took us to the woodshed a couple days ago.

We have talent. We just need to keep recruiting like we did last cycle, get more talent at OL and DL, and get a QB who can actually get the ball to the playmakers we have on offense.

In reality though, we're only a few pieces away.

This has been and remains my largest fear. We are just happy to be mediocre and are focused on other areas like academics.

Yea I am going to say we are further away then closer, especially after the mass exodus of talent that happens after this year.

We are building depth but depleting it faster and wasting it faster than we are backfilling it.

Lulz, what happened Sunday sucks but we will have way better teams than this the next few years. That’s what happens when you have 15 and 16 type classes as your junior and seniors. We had some studs in those classes but the filler is straight boo boo. Wait til 17 and 18 are in the same spot. Sure, then coaching will be the problem but we will be way better than this....

I agree with you what I mean by the post is the goals of CMR may have different goals such as be respectable win 8-9 games a year, challenge for the ACC and win the coastal, get to a bowl, but above all keep the program clean (which explains why our punishments are so much more sever than other schools)

Therefore he doesn't feel the urgency to switch to another qb or make any big coaching changes bc cmr knows the coastal is once again not very good and even with malik can get another 8-9 wins

Hiring Richt and building an IPF creates the illusion that Miami cares about winning.

We are legitimately a QB away right now from being Oklahoma. Our defense is good enough IF Complimented by an offense that can score at will. Other OC's and Offensive minds are looking at our skill position guys and just shaking or head at how good we have it.

exactly I'm afraid it may all be a facade

I don't feel we have the admin that truly wants to compete for national titles year in and year out
we just want no negative press and who is better at preventing that than CMR

if you dont have a 2 deep of 4 and 5 star dynamic athletes in your front seven and at least a starting 5 offensive line of blue chippers you will not compete regularly for a national title

who knows I hope I am wrong....

but it seems that our school is more concerned with us world news rankings than college football playoffs rankings

Fxck that I will be damned if I accept mediocrity. If Richt can't do it he can get the boot. An if the next guy can't do it he can get the boot as well. I will never accept this type of BS from this program.

School still has the ability to bring in elite talent. Still havnt been able to get a nice flow of good DT's in here, so maybe that's a big difference. But I personally just think we need one coach, one day that has the ability to out coach someone. Hire the hottest OC from a lower level team, before he gets a head coaching job and have him OC, and if hes the goods eventually make him the coach and waiting so he'd stay. If Richt doesn't want to, humiliate him by being the second straight school to force his hand against his stubborn will. This way we dont need to keep these dudes for 5 years, just keep trying to find the next hot OC and if they suck after a couple years gut them.

More importantly tell me about the admins you have intimate knowledge of that really want to win....

So did our admin really want to beat ND and VT LY, but have since changed their mind?

but do you believe our school will make CRM make changes?

I personally don't believe it will. Hopefully something is happening behind closed doors with our AD and the head man

We're only a QB, O line, D tackles, a punter, a field goal kicker and some DB depth away from competing with top tier teams.
