Maybe Lashlee Should Coach from Press Box

this. most offenses that run like lashlees will have the OC on the sidelines bc it is check with me once they get to the line and see how the D lines up
Most uptempo check with offenses has the OC right on the sidelines. Ppl on this board don’t pay attention. Then u have those that “played on the college level” here. But u can tell they FB IQ is ***

I've wanted this for years, but there is always one excuse or another. The usual excuse is, "We have a young QB and he needs to coach them on the sideline." Well, King is not some green QB, so what is the excuse now?
Lashlee doesn't want to climb up the stairs to the press box?

The problem is most of these guys don't watch other games besides Miami. They think having the OC on the sidelines is some crazy idea that isn't being used by a majority of teams these days.

That part too. And some ppl are just watching to watch. Not tryna understand what’s going on or why a team is doing this to setup something later in the game.

Idk how u can even formulate an opinion by not doing that. Me personally I can watch any CFB game in my downtime because I’m a fan of the sport.

We need Lashlee up in the pressbox because numerous people up there aren’t telling him exactly what the defense is doing every single second. All that talking you see him doing on his Bose headset? They’re connected to his iPhone, and he’s actually ordering pizza

in college, you have a ton of HCs that call their own plays too. theyre not up in the booth, theyre getting fed info from the guys that sit up there and make their calls. a lot of check with me Os that run on tempo generally have the play callers on the sidelines as its easier for the QB to get the signals

ill admit, 99.9 percent of the football watching pop have very little understanding of the game (that includes me). whenever i hear a former pro/canes break down the games/plays, its a whole diff sport really. roman and lance do great jobs with breakdowns, as well.

I find myself enjoying a lot of the G5 Thursday night games and stuff outside of the top 25 because the smaller schools are always the ones trying crazy new stuff. The powerhouse games are great and all but if you want to see what type of offense LSU will be running in five years, checkout the late night MWC games or the Thursday night AAC matchup. Those game are fun as **** for me.

I really dont think the play calling is the problem. We're just not winning the one on one battles especially the wr teams are just staking the box and daring us to beat them up top.
It’s a problem.

One thing I have really been thinking about is why some offensive coordinators who put up big numbers against lower division teams succeed and others fail.

The big thing I am seeing is a well rounded system. Lashlee’s predictable use of the inside zone and refusal to attack the linebackers and safeties in the short/ intermediate middle is what’s causing the offensive stagnation with OUR CURRENT ROSTER.

He is allowing the defense to stack the middle and tee off on the inside zone. The short quick passes go to the outside so quickly the defense can easily see it, attack downfield and blow up those wide receiver screens. A missed block results in falling behind the chains.

We know we have problems with King’s reads, interior offensive line, and wide receiver. Still, we can be better.

All you have to do is look at the Clemson offense and their misdirection short passing plays. We need more of that mixed with quick basic routes over the middle that get receivers moving laterally against man and creating 2 on 1 opportunities against zone.

Some more creativity with the outside run game will help too. Establishing the short passing game is most important though. Getting the linebackers off balance and tired will get us bigger runs over the course of the game, especially in the second half.

These changes won’t make us a 50 point per game offense, but would get us more yards and points and make us more efficient. I don’t expect much because that’s not Lashlee’s system. I am hopeful because he did steal that play Clemson made where the line men don’t move at the snap, so he is looking for stuff.

We only use the middle for most of the run game and perimeter for most of the passing game and it locks us into predictable sequences. We need to attack the ENTIRE field consistently.

Nah man dont seem like the type, at least hes yelling and getting on guys down there...

Our sideline would be summer christian camp without him down there.

You can call Inside zone from anywhere
I'm tempted to make a twitter account to troll this **** out of Lashlee. Can we get something other than IZ,
Some counters
Gap/pull plays, traps!
Jet Sweeps
Outside speed options

It's like this dude is **** bent on running the same bullcrap and just conceding down. I just can't imagine why he does this.

New OC, new offense, new team, new teammates. Hands on can’t hurt, but yeah would like to eventually see Lash in booth.

It doesn't matter if you are trying to block 7 people with 5 people.... you have to adjust the play when the D shows you this over and over

Clemson has a guy named Trevor Lawrence..we don’t. So now. Lashlee is the problem. This the weirdest fan base on earth

You're reading comprehension is the problem. Never down play the importance of having a good pair of eyes in the booth. Simple statement and dumb response by you.

dude the coaches have who they trust up there. the coaches box isnt empty and i think D money highlighted who they usually keep up there to relay info to the coordinators. along w that, its up to the coordinators on how and who they prefer up in the box.

Didn't say the box was empty. WTF did you get that from? dmoney making a public announcement about who is in the press box doesn't answer the question about having a good set of eyes up there.

If you wanna minimize the importance of having a good set of eyes be my guest. You just look like the guys who thought golden was something special when it was easy to see the guy was a POS.
