After ranking our class #20 overall after last year despite having all those freshman phenoms and putting pickney mccloud and ahmmon richards low 4 stars and double digit wide recievers ahead of him


They had to correct there bullshyt

It's not unique to Miami. Fans generally think the players their team recruits are underrated.

Last cycle Garvin, Harley, and D.J Johnson got bumps late. None of these recruiting services pick on Miami purposely. And if they make a mistake it's not a planned conspiracy.

I'd say there are two levels of bias inherent in rankings:

(1) winning programs are given the benefit of the doubt (e.g. an Alabama offer will boost a player's credibility regardless of the substance on film)
(2) for some services, size of fanbase/market (e.g. who's going to buy more subscriptions or provide more clicks?)

If so, pretty natural for it to happen. After all, the purpose of these services isn't just to be "correct," it's to sell to their market(s).
