Matt Rhule Contract - WOW

LOL dude getting 7 years at up to 10 mil per. His resume is Temple and Baylor, not even a major program. This is just getting to ridiculous levels and I'm really starting to believe (unless caps are put in place) we are not going to be able to compete; not even close. We just got to paying Richt 4 mil and top coaches are now getting more than double!
Miami has money, they just choose to spend it other ways like on U health for example. Miami can compete nationally if and when they decide they want to start having a winning football program again.

How do you pay that for a guy that has nothing of significant substance on his resume? There are two guys coaching in CFB right now that could demand that kind of money and one of them already bailed on the NFL.

Has Riley turned down inquiries, or did another ***-kicking take the shine off him?

It is an NFL coach gig and chances are he implodes.

Re****inglax Jesus
What? That's my whole point is they are putting that kind of money in a Temple and Baylor coach. Also, that's not much more than Dabo at like 9.6 and Saban, near the same and Jimbo who 2 years ago got 10 years and 75 million GUARANTEED.

I don't know if I believe that. I believe they have more than they put on but they aren't anywhere close to being able to keep up with the money that's only getting more and more ridiculous

The NFL is clearly gearing itself towards younger coaches with different offensive schemes.

Miami has money. They just need to spend it.

I like seeing the Raiders play well. I was in Tampa and saw how Gruden over complicated things. The guy ruined Chris Sims and a couple of other young QB's with his "Innovative" 2000 page play book. I knew former Buc players that basically confirmed it. Lee Roy Selmon's near Dale Mabry was a hang out spot. Gruden over complicates things and for some makes him sound like a genius. Carr is a good QB, but learning Gruden's system is like learning Latin. People fell in love with his play by play on Monday night football. For every play he has 8 different versions.

Well Carr did have his best season this year stats wise and they were 6-4 at one point but the team lost 5 out of their last 6 and averaged 11 PPG

They easily could have been 10-6

They lost 20-16 to Jaguars, 15-16 to the Broncos, and just didnt show up against my awful Jets

Wasn't Joe Judge going to Miss State?
He was in the running. But being a HC requires a certain skill set and leadership capabilities. You either have them or you don’t.

Belichick said Judge was born to be a HC, and Judge was in charge of Patriots special teams the last 5 years which have been amazing.

Probably in the minority but I like the hire.

You can’t compare and NFL team to a college one

Does anybody know why Rhule never followed Golden to become OC at Miami? I think Golden’s tenure, at least early on, would have been better with Rhule as OC. Rhule basically chose being the Giants asst OL coach over being Miami OC, which is really weird. Or did Golden seriously choose Fisch as his Miami OC over Rhule?

Golden probably would have shown his true suckitude after Rhule left. But maybe we would have brought Rhule back as head coach after Golden got fired.

And, even if he eventually got NFL overtures, (which he might not have since he wouldn’t have Giants assistant experience), I think Miami would have had a better chance at keeping him as head coach than Baylor would.

I already explained it's the point of a temple and Baylor coach getting that much and that it's not much more than the current top college coaches. Dabo and Saban are both around 9.6 and Jimbo got ten years, 75 million fully guaranteed and that was 2 years ago.
**** even all that money Taggart got and his annual salary was around 6 mil, 2 more than the highest we've ever paid anyone

Guy turned Temple and Baylor around. Dude can coach and build a culture.
The only expensive coach is the one who is incompetent.

Didn't Rhule take over the Temple job when Golden left? Better opportunity for him. We hired the wrong Temple coach apparently!
