Matt Patricia: “we might have a few new things they haven’t seen”

Listen, he has fielded a good defense. But he wasn’t a great defensive coordinator in the NFL. He’s not some mastermind. He’s got elite talent going against sub par talent. That normally wins in college no matter what you scheme up. It will be a dog fight. But let’s see if his defensive line can hold up against our horses. No matter what you scheme up, physicality will win the day. If we don’t turn the ball over and we can force a couple turnovers, this game can be ours.

As a Pats fan, I hate Patricia with every fiber of my being. He road the coattails of Bill and Brady for years and was exposed the second he got away from them. Then at the end of Bills rope, he hired this fat **** as our OC. A bottom tier DC was supposedly going to come and turn around an anemic offense lol. I can laugh now with how things are going with Maye and Josh back but MAN that was a dark time.

We tried to force feed Malachi Toney down tamu’s throats and they were ready for it. All we really had to do was use Toney as a decoy on half of the plays we had designed for him and we would have eaten because tamu was selling out to stop him.
Hopefully OSU is prepping for a **** ton of Malachi just like tamu did and Dawson has some wrinkles in his bag of tricks.

Yea in regards to in general game to game they will have gameplan but still be in foundation.. Maybe its myth but belichek and crew were known to create gameplans or you will hear people mention making offenses play left handed, take away top target by doubling then have other locked up..

No need to watch that video. Jared Goff and Brandin cooks destroyed Sean Mcvay

Playing at Jerry World not Mount Weather Kyle Field. Give us opportunities to hit on chunk plays. I'd play us straight up.
Playing straight up would be a mistake in my opinion. Our OL is better than their DL. Using Arvell as pure LB and not utilizing his talent to bring extra pressure is a bad idea. Beck will eat if he's not pressured. I'm not sure Ohio State will be able to get past our line routinely without blitzing. We have one of the lowest pressure allowed rates in the country. I'd blizt the **** out of us, especially since OSU has better athletes at LB and DB than A&M and they were effective blizting.

We'll see....

@Pentagon Cane

More context on my post. Start watching from the 10:50 mark. He does a great job of explaining what our OL struggles with.

And when they do blitz
SCREEN them to death
We need rb screens
I hope Shannon has a few ready to go

He is a Belichek disciple, who is notorious for cooking up individual gameplans they havent shown prior.. i dont think its out of realm of possibility with all the time off and chess pieces he has at disposal..
The Patriots are professional players.....osu is not, they are college kids who are prone to mistakes.

I wouldn't use screens against OSU. They eat up screens. Also OSU has ideal personnel to stop screens. Sonny Styles has elite play recognition skills and Arvell Reese eats up space and closes in a hurry. They have too much speed to try them horizontally. Texas A&M gave us fits, Imagine what OSU would do.

Beck needs to show up because we're going to have to get vertical on OSU. They've given up plays down the seam and deep shots. OSU blitzing means they're more than likely maning up on the outside and leaving safeties one on one with TEs and WRs. Make them pay by stressing their defense vertically. A lot of this simply comes down to Beck.
