Purdue men's basketball head coach Matt Painter talked in the postgame press conference after Miami fell short to the Boilermakers 79-69.

Head coach Matt Painter was asked about Miami Hurricanes Shelton Hednerson's performance during the loss today, and Painter talked highly on the former five-star freshman.

Henderson looked like the best player on the floor and he's a true freshman. Then again, Henderson, if he stays 3-4 years will be DOMINANT, he's close as is. They had no answer for him and he gave their PG fits on switches, dude wasn't ready for that kind of length and athleticism.

He “just” needs to develop his shot. Henderson may have really big hands. Guys like that tend to take longer to develop their shot as the basketball is too small for them. It’s like shooting a volleyball for a normal person, which is hard to do.

A shot can be developed though, it requires time in the gym. If he's a gym rat, I expect that shot to be significantly better by the fall, and continue to grow as he gets more comfortable with it.

He needs to work on his ball handling as well. He has the size, strength, athleticism, plays defense, and is really young. He’s a good developmental prospect, I would draft him late 1st rd.
 
In a weaker draft, he’d be a top twenty lock. Thankfully, this draft is loaded and Henderson will benefit from returning & having a ton of offseason lotto hype going into his sophomore season.
