Matt Campbell

Iowa State was screwed by the refs all night. They were the better team and should have won outright.

Still cashed in my ISU +3 ticket though. :6fps6:

Anyone thinking he’s some kind of savior that’ll be able to recruit here and deal with all these fragile personalities is crazy.

Keep moving the goal posts.

The guy is a winner and would win bigly here. He would assemble a staff of recruiters. He would know coming in that this was his shot at winning a national title. I have no doubt that he could get UM to a playoff game.

If Iowa State didn’t fumble in the forth then it wouldn’t have their greatest season. Campbell went up against a guy with 3x the talent as him and left no doubt who was the better coach.

And had it not been for a snow storm, he would have beaten U dub and been playing Ohio state in the Rose bowl.

0 chance Leach was beating U dub even without the snow storm. He gets spanked by them every year. This was his 1 chance to beat them and he blew it. Next year he goes back to having a regular 2 star QB and he will get wrecked by Wash again next year. You wan't a guy that can't play in inclement weather to be Miamis coach? LOL. If he comes here we will be competing with FAU and FIU for recruits.

WSU has 3x the talent? Iowa State has had like the 55th recruiting class in the nation, WSU has high 40s low 50s
ISU was playing their third string QB and WSU needed two TOs on ISU’s side to score 14 points with their heisman candidate QB...and yea lol they do WSU has an All American O-lineman, an All-Conference RB, heisman QB, and a couple of dudes on D that are gonna play in the league too. ISU played with their 3rd string Freshman QB, Hakeem Butler, David Montgomery, and an emerging safety and still needs 2 missed field goals and 2 TOS on ISU’s side to beat them by 2.

Yea great winner. All I remember was him having an All-American WR and QB dou but he couldn’t win more than 9 games at Texas Tech But he “wins” though.

They don’t miss two field goals then the ref wouldn’t have mattered.

You know what’s worse? Anybody who actually paid attention to the game would know he needed 2 turnovers for his Heisman QB and scheme to beat Campbell by two with a 3rd string QB. He needed a TO to score against John Heacock in the 2nd half. He “wins” though...unless he’s at Texas Tech with an All-American QB and WR then 9 wins is his ceiling with the occasional 2 loss season every 7 years or so.

Also leach has been at WSU for 7 years so these are all HIS players. He still can't land anything but 2 and 3 stars. He lucked out with Minshew falling into his lap. Minshew was going to go to Bama and learn under Saban and then go and be a coach. Next year Leach will be back to his old self barely making bowl games. This is also THE WORST the Pac 12 has ever been and he still couldn't make it to the Pac 12 championship game.

Campbell atleast is still playing with the old coaches recruits and is on pace to land one of the best classes this school has ever had. Leach is the world worst recruiter. Campbell is at least going to be able to capitalize off this and land some solid kids.

Plus who wants the air raid to be played at Miami where it rains every single day during football season.

And the most important reason of them all...

Campbell actually plays defense...

WSU recruits around the same as ISU. Not Leach's fault he develops guys into all americans as you claim

How does this change the fact that Campbell and staff outcoached him and actually should’ve beat them with less talent? Anybody who watched that game knows Campbell out coached him. Btw no they don’t. Campbell is about to bring in their best class ever at 55 while Leach has hovered around there or better for about 5 years.

Odd fit? He’s the perfect fit. He would actually stir the locals without bags. He’s the only coach I can think of that could reverse that trend. He would fit in like Harvey Fierstein at Schlongfest.

I don’t think a developmental style coach is gonna cut it at Miami, I think he needs to stay in the Midwest. He’s about as goofy as McElwain and u seen how that worked out for UF. I could be wrong though and if he were to ever come here I’d be supportive, I just think he’d probably pass on the job due to cultural fit.

Which is generally par for the course for Washington State. After all, they're in rural Eastern Washington, and in a normal year, they'll fail to sellout a 30,000 seat stadium when Iowa State draws 50,000+.

This year's Washington State team set the school record in wins at 11, to even attempt to spin this season as a negative is foolish. He's done an incredible job there and I wish he was the head coach here.

Where did I spin this as a negative? He has been there for 7 years and even in the worst pac 12 season in history and with an elite QB(who he didn't even coach up. The kid transferred in already coached up) he still couldn't even play in the Pac 12 Championship. The man SUCKS at recruiting. Even after his record setting year he still can't land any 4 stars. You can make any excuse you want about location, but other schools make due.

He would be an absolute TERRIBLE hire at Miami. We need someone that can recruit in Miami. If Leach was to come here Mullet, ***gert, Dabo, Saban, Malzahn, etc. would rope off Miami and we would be fighting with Butch and Kiffin for recruits.

What are you talking about? At least don't look like an idiot

If outcoaching him means getting an unsportsmanlike conduct to hurt his team sure. If YOU watched the game ISU got lucky WSU dropped a few 3rd down conversions. If YOU watched the game if Campbell taught his players to actual tackle Minshaw wouldn't have some great scrambles and throws.

Name a similar school to WSU who recruits well

Syracuse is in the middle of nowhere and has similar attendance. Dino is recruiting circles around WSU.

Fresno is one of the biggest schit holes in the country, has similar attendance isn't p5 or even in the AAC and yet they recruit at a similar level to Leach.

Mike Leach coached at Texas Tech - a University that outspends Miami by $10-$15 million annually on their athletic department.

The notion that Leach would avoid Miami because it’s “too big” is some of the most delusional **** I’ve read on here.
