Mateer

@pyhooya I see the face palm and am curious as to why? I am open to suggestions that maybe I missed on my evaluations.

If it’s character concerns, then I can understand the initial reaction. But I take it with a grain of salt. Especially after Beck was dragged through the mud all offseason and we now know he’s not the guy that was being portrayed.
Your list is fine except for Raiola up top. I don't think he's awful but it does seem like his family is extremely involved and his YPA in games against opponents with a winning record was 6.6, which would have ranked almost dead last in the country.

If we were stuck with him, I think we could win. But I'd rather have everyone else on your list.

His OC was about to get fired at Washington state. It was a terrible decision for him to follow him at OU. I know why he did it but just not a good choice.
Hindsight is 20/20. But good chance he doesn’t get hurt if he came here. And based off the first four games, he could have won a Heisman here.

Funny how one decision can change your trajectory so much.

Honestly just know nothing about him and with dream guys like JKS.. etc on the list was giving him the no. Wheres he at on your list? Can dude ball?

He can ball big time.

For me, my list is really a top 5 (not counting JKS) bc he re-upped with cal in no particular order:

Mastermaker
Hoover
Sorsby
Mateer
Bailey

But, my preference is one of the 4 Texas kids. My only nit on Hoover is that he’s like a statue but he’s arguably the best passer of the bunch.

Out on Mateer after watching their playoff game. A lot of his issues are attributed to his injury but I saw a guy whose feet/shoulders often don’t match his eyes, throws off-platform unnecessarily, and leaves his feet to throw unnecessarily

Was like that before the thumb injury too. I don’t see it with him.

If Mateer hits the portal it’s more to do with OU being dissatisfied with the value they’re getting for what they’ve been paying and I can’t blame them.

Think he’d probably end up at a mid-to-low tier P-4 program.
