Mateer

I thought the decision was to return or go pro.
That said, when I compare him to Bailey, I look at how they performed against the best competition.

Before Mateer got hurt, he was getting good pub as the type of dual threat qb we were wanting last offseason and doing it against pretty good comp. Pretty obvious he came back too soon and that impacted him but he’s a gamer.

Again, I think we go with Bailey, but looking at just these two, it seems Bailey is the bigger gamble.

Maybe some UHealth personnel could tell us if he's ever going to be able to throw again with those 4 screws in his throwing hand's thumb?

Here’s my in order of who I’d go after.

1. Raiola
2. Mestemaker
3. JKS
4. Bailey
5A. Mateer
5B. Leavitt
5C. Sorsby
5D. Hoover

Any of these guys and I’m happy with QB situation.
@pyhooya I see the face palm and am curious as to why? I am open to suggestions that maybe I missed on my evaluations.

If it’s character concerns, then I can understand the initial reaction. But I take it with a grain of salt. Especially after Beck was dragged through the mud all offseason and we now know he’s not the guy that was being portrayed.

Mine is
1.JKS
2.Mateer
3.Sorsby
4. Mestemakerz
5. Raiola
6.Leavitt
7.Bailey
8. No on Hoover

You pretty much nailed my list but I would flip Mateer and Sorsby. I was driving the Mateer bandwagon last year and still think he would be a Heisman candidate at Miami, but I like Sorsby’s passing ability more than Mateer’s.

He coming on a discount? He’s way more banged up after being used as essentially a battering ram for a year who sometimes kept the defense honest with some passing

Kidding aside he looked decent but once the comp level got raised he seemed to slide back to mid… maybe just the injury but if he’s wanting beck money I’d be skittish
