Marty Brown is a true CANE

Disastrous blow for us and the kid. Praying for a speedy recovery.

If I'm Marty, I transfer down to a G6/FCS, be the feature back in 2027 and get good film for NFL scouts.

It happened right in front of me, it looked like a hypertension. For the record, the play was a clean play.

Going to keep the faith that it’s not season ending. When I was a young man in the marine corps I was sprinting in full gear and got my foot wedged between tree roots. I fell and ankle gave way , my heel was folded up next to my calf muscle. Worst pain I have ever felt (I’ve broken my hand , thumb, and shoulder in the past, this was feeling worse). Felt like a gunshot to the ankle. Couldnt put the slightest bit of weight on it. Ended up being a partial ligament tear- the docs gave me 4 days light duty, some Motrin, and said to keep it wrapped tight. Then I went back to training a handful of
Days later. The ligaments of youngsters are extremely resilient.

Was at the game and had a perfect down the line view of the tackle. You knew right away it was serious when he couldn’t even attempt to get up. My question is how did it happen. I don’t wanna go back and look at it, but was it a situation where his as soon as he planted, he got hit in the knee.?
like he was being tackled and he took another step and due to his momentum and maybe cleat sticking to turf his knee just bent wrong way. nobody hit him in knee.

I knew Kalbac (no H) pretty good. Used him as an expert when I did litigation. His house which is 5 acres in south Miami is now for sale. He passed 10-15 years ago. He was a neat person
I figured he had to have probably passed caused he operated on me when i was at Dade South in 71-72 I had 4 surgeries in 2 years.he did 2 and my family orthopedic Dr Benevides did the other 2.Spent most of 2 years in a cast.
So much for my baseball career…lol

I just hope he’s able to walk normally to have a normal life.I hope he can play football again but in injuries like this if it was that serious it’s life first football second.

He’s not coming back this year. You don’t have a knee injury so gruesome that ESPN decides not to replay it and come back in 2 months.

Also the doctor did the standard knee stability test, and they immediately called for a cart. There’s not much left in that thing, unfortunately. Really ****** for him and us. But we’re not gonna see him again this year. He has at least 1 torn ligament, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s multiple.
Yeah when they said it, I knew it was a wrap. If it's a multi season injury we need to keep him on scholarship until he graduates, I'm sure they would regardless.

Good post, lede buried though lol. I wanna know too
Mario hermetically seals any injury status we won’t know for a while until something leaks out- and only b/c from a competitive advantage standpoint Mario won’t allow updates and will keep it dark…
Cha’mar was my favorite- the unsung hero who almost always came thru- I feel for the kid— huge heart, incredible effort— he is gonna be missed and it will show itself plenty
I pray he comes back— such a great player all around and probably a phenomenal teammate too

Mario wouldn't tell anyone anything if he didn't have to lol.

Not exactly true. If someone is out for season he reveals it quickly. He probably doesn’t care too but also doesn’t want to answer questions for the rest of the year for a player that’s not coming back. The TE that got hurt in fall practice it was quickly told to the media.

Okay if you say so— how long did it take for us to learn about jaboreee, etc
I’ll stick to my theorem

He is quick with out for the year stuff also happened with Lowe last year.

What I am saying is that if a guy is out for the season it’s not hidden. Any injury outside of that is total secrecy. So Antoine is a different situation. He’s coming back at some point this year.

He is at best cryptic- he’s never (I could be wrong) as I recall ever stated anyone “out for the season” it’s always nuanced and general

Incorrect. Lowe was listed out for season on the very first injury report last year.
Okay that’s one— it was kinda obvious since he left for Los Angeles to “take care of personal matters”
Parsing things a bit don’t you think? Don’t waste our time with that drivel please

Just wondering do coaches have to be concerned with HIPPA laws giving out info of players other than saying they are out for the year or will be back in X amount of weeks?

Just curious for one of the CIS lawyers that might know.

Just assume Marty's out for the year. Hope he heals up as quickly and fully as possible and has success in his life.

It sucks big time. He's a great player and seems like an awesome teammate.
