I get what youre saying but have you seen how the coaches and ad at ohio st are slurping up fields nuts? they have all but promised the job is his without the competition even taking place. In most cases I would agree with you about leaving before the comp starts but there was never a comp to be had with Ryan Day. He doesnt wanna run the offense like meyer and doesnt want martell to be his QB. He wants fields and once that was official the competition was over.

If Day promised Fields the job, then my point is moot. I’d welcome Martell with open arms to compete against N’kosi/Weldon/Williams, but I don’t understand the double standard we have at times.
