Marshawn Lynch on Cam Ward

Special players can change that narrative look at Washington. **** organization for ages, you get that one player it makes everything go away. Everyone doesn’t know how to run an organization till they get the guy that changes it. If he’s special he’s special if he’s not he’s not
I think the same can be said about our program with Cam, in some respects.

He is a short dude, but I really think some of his problem is that his OL was straight garbage in his rookie season. I saw plays where he'd take the snap and take a step and was already being hit. It happened a lot.
Steve Mariucci once alluded the mental game in regards to Brady, when he compared him to Giovanni Carmazzi, whom the 9ers picked in the same draft.

Once you get out on the field and someone tries to rip your head off... some guys love it and get right back up and some lose confidence and self-belief.

Maye got hit about as bad as a QB can get hit yesterday and he did what we saw at UNC - get right back up and make the big play. Dude was the reason this was somewhat of a game in the 4th.

Bryce lacked any special physical tools. He had below-average height, below-average weight, average athleticism and average velocity.

A guy like Kyler Murray was short but had special talent. Someone like Russell Wilson was heavier and could hold up better. Young, to me, is a guy who gets by more on intangibles and needs a lot around him to succeed.
Sounds like Tua smh

Do you know why that was? Because NFL DCs quickly worked out he can't throw the ball accurately over 15 yards, can't see the middle of the field and can't scramble out of the pocket.

They loaded the box and send (or faked) blitzes from everywhere. The OLine had no chance. They've invested a boatload of money into the OLine in the offseason and Young still couldn't get it done.

Thanks for pointing all that out, I guess I focused too much on his intangibles. I saw a kid who could process quickly and deliver the ball but I also guess that was easier behind the Bama OL with the Bama wr’s.
Young could process quickly and deliver the ball. He was also incredible at extending plays. He always lacked elite arm talent. He was a more accurate Jordan Travis.

There was a huge drop off on longer pass plays after Mac Jones left. Mac averaged over 11 yds per completion in 2020. Yes, he was throwing to NFL receivers, but so was Bryce. In Bryce's first year his average yds per completion was 8.9, which is still very good. I know some Bama fans and they loved Bryce Young but would complain that he couldn't and wouldn't throw downfield. Spoiled for sure. They were used to Tua and Mac launching bombs for 3+ years. However, they were right. Bryce just didn't have the arm talent to take those deeper shots or more difficult throws.

Hopefully not! Cleveland, Jax and Carolina organizations are absolutely trash. Really hope he doesn't go there
IMO I’d rather he go to the NYG than any of those 3 organizations. So who’s left?

Raiders - poorly ran organization at the top

Not too many other teams with a Top 1-7 pick possibility unless you count the Bengals who have Burrow so obviously wouldn’t draft a QB.

Arizona is a maybe but they’d have to get out of the Murray deal.

Cowboys are looking suspect but this is why I HATED the Dak extension because now we’re stuck with him win/lose. Ward would be an excellent fit in Dallas - opposite of Dak in that he’s unflappable under pressure. Ditto for Shedeur - sorry guys I'm a depressed Cowboys fan smh.

So again, who does that leave? To me, as far an organization that’s known to have a structured environment and not okay with losing - The New York Giants would be the best team projected to pick in that Top 7 range for Cam Ward

Don't disagree at all but it was even happening in their pre-season games. I also think the kid is shell-shocked. They do look a lot better with Dalton at QB.
