Yes, but you tell him straight to his face, if he wants to be a RB, he simply needs to come in and show he can do it. If he can, he gets the job. "Sure, we'll let you try out there, and if it doesn't work out, we'll try to at CB." It was a MASSIVE failure not bringing him in and giving him a shot. If he's the best CB in the country, but wants to try out at a different position, you do whatever it takes to get him in the door.
I was able to speak to him via telephone. He is young. Kinda remind me of LSU coach a little. He is inviting or receptive to letting ex players around the program. I think that can always be good. It's definitely not the same history as the U. But its a good start. I tell people i played at kentucky for 4 years and grateful. But i used to not miss a hurricane game on a saturday while i played at UK! Lol been a cane fan as far as i could rememberHow you like Will Stein for Kentucky? I think hes an excellent guy
I played highschool my juniour year. But tore my entire knee apart. So i really played my senior year only. At kentucky during spring. I clocked as low as 4.34 after the surgery. I was about 185 pounds at that time. Before that i have no idea what i was running. Never ran track.Eric Kelly...Injuries suck, but I see that you played 3 full seasons, went 3rd round out of Kentucky. Did you also run track? And you're from Panama City, I grew up in the Pan handle as well
That's cool man, like I said injuries suck, sorry that happened to you but a 4.34 after a torn knee is amazing. I got a track scholarship to Texas Southern (HBCU). I finished 3rd in the state in the 400 meter my senior year in 2005, I ran a 48.8. I ended up joining the military after my 1st semester in college ( I was a knuckle head and didnt keep my grades up) but I was going to join the football team as a walkon, ended up retiring from the army though.I played highschool my juniour year. Im grateful but been a canes fan longer.. lol but alot of love for Kentucky.. my child hood friend/middle school friend /highschool teammate/college roommate/ teammate is the defensive line coach there now..That’s freaking awesome man! What makes you a UM fan? Watching the Canes as a kid? You obviously have more love for your Alma mater right? Kentucky looking solid!
What is your greatest memories as a Canes fan growing up? When did you first fall in love? I was 4 watching the UM vs ND game in 89 in Germany with my dad. He was in the military. That was the first game I remember. But I didn’t really start remembering games for real until 91, but I started playing ball at 6. Played d2. Nothing like what you accomplished but I rep the U all day over my garbage program lol.Im grateful but been a canes fan longer.. lol but alot of love for Kentucky.. my child hood friend/middle school friend /highschool teammate/college roommate/ teammate is the defensive line coach there now..
