Marshall Faulk question for the old timers

[TheOriginalCane]

I remember hearing that Marshall Faulk wanted to be a Cane back in the day but we wanted him at corner. For you guys following recruiting back then was he truly interested and if so who was the coach that wanted him at corner?

Kid had 11 interceptions his senior year. 6 of them were pick-sixes.

What would you recruit him for?

Sad to hear. My favorite NFL player ever.

Clearly would’ve been good at either position. Might have told him what he needed to hear to get him in campus

Faulk is a top 5 RB all time IMO

Hit him in the back field on 4th down for ahead touchdown to win the game. When he was with the Rams My claim to fame. I just had to say it. Definitely one of the best ever.

You got to give us a few bread crumbs on who you are because this is an awesome NFL moment.

All I remember is him carving us up in ‘91 as a freshman.

That's when I first noticed him. My second favorite back of all time behind barry.

Also, I think we recruited Steve McNair as a DB.

McNair is another one who was widely recruited as a DB/Safety.

Thanks for being on CIS. We have a few former players, but very, very few at the level you played. So please keep posting and adding your insight. We all benefit from it.

That’s freaking awesome man! What makes you a UM fan? Watching the Canes as a kid? You obviously have more love for your Alma mater right? Kentucky looking solid!

Faulk was one of the best to ever do it. He had all the great RB traits. Young RBs can learn a lot by watching his tape

I remember watching Marshall Faulk when he was at SDSU. I was about 10 years old (bout the same time I started watching Canes games). Faulk was a beast in college. Wishing him nothing but the best!!
