I remember hearing that Marshall Faulk wanted to be a Cane back in the day but we wanted him at corner. For you guys following recruiting back then was he truly interested and if so who was the coach that wanted him at corner?

Every p4 team wanted him at corner.
The only coach that promised him to be a running back was the sdsu.
It was Erickson.
He also said that Miami was his favorite team and that he would’ve committed on the spot if we offered him at running back.

I believe Curtis Johnson was SDSU's tie to Louisiana.
He later coached our WRs.

Nice brawl during game too.
Some of our guys squaring up with the Aztec mascot.
Lol.
The brawl was the road game at San Diego State in 1990. Faulk was a true freshman playing against Miami in 1991. The Canes won handedly but Faulk did have a good game. I think he had about 150 yards.

And The Rock was one of the players wanting to fight the mascot, even chasing the mascot into the stands.

Living on the West Coast, this was one of the few Miami games I have been able to attend. The Brawl at the Murph and the Rose Bowl.

lol Remember what started the fight??

We slammed their 6 foot 8 QB McGwire who happened to be the little brother of Oakland A’s Mark McGwire. May have been the Rock or Krein I do t recall but McGwire was leading the nation in total offense at the time.
