Marquise Lightfoot is not hurt

Runs coming to him he's weak (comes too far up field, easy to kick out or base block), runs going away he can squeeze and chase like no other DE (K Scott levels)

Because Moten played like a Day 1 kid, and Lightfoot, Blount and Scott finally started showing us what all the hype was about. If they can build off of those final 4-6 games, we are going to reave opponents' souls.

I’ve been saying this since last year. The SMU loss was a transformative event for The Entire Program.

Every guy on our defense that played snaps showed they can do their jobs at a high clip. But because Bain and Mesi took so many of the snaps from them, they didn’t really get enough chances to show out. Bain and Mesi are great, but they won’t be able to wave substitutions off when they’re gasping for air in the pros. Coaches should not allow them to wave guys off when they’re tired as it hurts the team overall. Not subbing guys out when they’re exhausted and getting these young guys in vs FSU is what led to the little comeback. Guys like Lightfoot should have been in pinning their ears back and one of Mesi/Bain should’ve been inside rushing. We didn’t see a NASCAR package as often as I expend last season

We were so close to being knocked out of the CFP again it was scary. Just crazy to think how transformational that one game was for us.

I hope and believe Mario learned his lesson from that near failure along with the rest of the team. If I see bunch sets and runs up the middle with this offense I'm going to lose it.

Buddy they only run two run plays. Wide zone and duo. Both are going to be “up the middle” 80 and 99% of the time, respectively.

The outside run game is built on screens and RPO tags.

Wanna know what frees up that inside run game? 1- Mobile QBs. 2- deep shot QBs. Beck was neither.

Heading to year 5, not just getting started. But I get it- the program should be top-5 every year until the paradigm shifts in some way again. Current structure = Miami should be top-5
