Markel Bell Puts His Name Into The 2026 NFL Draft

Bell is going to get drafted. It's a certainty. The question is when? Feels like a mid-low 4th rounder right now to me based on how he held up in the CFP. He did really well vs. A&M and Taint, was passable but not inspiring against a much smaller opponent vs Indiana. If his combine results show more speed and agility, that could pop him up higher. But if I were him I would have applied for that waiver. JMHO.

I thought it was more of the fact it was looking like he wasn’t gonna get the waiver, so he declared.

Yeah I think he has to realize he’s not “sparring” out there. This is full on go mode for these guys and they know they can get noticed by making him look bad. Hes got a target on his back. Horrible rep but he will recover.

Amazed people thought he wouldn't get drafted
I didn't watch much of the Super Bowl, as I hate the NFL now, but the few snaps I saw of the Patriots I couldn't help but think, "Markell Bell is better than their LT."

Now if I'm a playoff contender in need of a LT, why the HECK do I let him slip past the first round? He's got size you can't teach. He is good. It's not like he was getting lit up, by anyone. This 4th round nonsense from some people is crazy. Am I crazy, or do I remember when the LT was the second most important position on the O side of the ball?

I've seen bigger projects go much higher in the draft than what Bell is projected to go. And I don't mean physically, I mean as a project.

A lot is going to depend upon Miami Pro Day IMO. He shows up, he'll be a fast riser.

Is that right? He didn't allow any sacks? I swear I remember 1 or 2.
Are these the same people reporting that Kenyon Sadiq’s 4.39 40 is the fastest ever time by a TE at the combine when it’s fairly well known Vernon Davis ran 4.38 in 2006?

Speaking of Bell with his arm length, I wonder if GMs are gonna ask Mario for practice tape of him against Bain because I’m sure Bell neutralized him and made Bain a non factor because that’s how it works right?

With 32 NFL teams, I'm sure some GMs are going to value arm length a lot (helps Bell) and some will prioritize productivity (helps Bain). So both could end up rising based on different evaluation strategies across teams.
