Players also endorsed Coker....look at us now

Coker might not have been the best coach but it obviously worked out for those players that wanted him, they did go to two back to back championships.

Anybody could have coached that team to back to back championships, talent was on another level. If you have seen the 30 for 30 they call Coker a substitute teacher and that he did absolutely nothing. Team was run by players

Again didn't say Coker was good, players just got what they wanted. Just thought it was funny.

And by the by, I don't need to watch 30 for 30 I saw it in real life lol, but ya he definitely was like a sub teacher. But that's part of why it worked, you bring in a new coach with a new system and a lot of things change. They just got to stay on the same path they were on with Butch. I had more of a problem with the Shannon and Golden hirings, and the undeserved extensions. Coker wasn't anywhere near the downfall of the U, he actually deserves more credit for the rise, he was the OC for Butch all the years before. Our administration and their terrible decision making is what killed us in the end.

This team needs structure again....this laid back, taking selfie bull ish gotta go. They've been having all this fun, jawing off on twitter, talking big head to opponent's kickers and what not...and then getting smashed on Saturdays.....this clown show needs to stop. They need the balance of discipline and coaching on this team. No more party time and running through ***** dummies.

The players didn't pick the next two guys. I'd say they did no worse than the administration has done, and they didn't take any of the university's money in exchange for a bad hire.

I would be shocked if Coach Richt coaches anywhere next year BUT Miami. That's his alma mater! That would be pretty cool!!!!!

Walton would look like Dunn circa 1996 in Richt's offense.

If there is anything he knows how to do it is get RBs the rock.

Was his meeting with the Committee before or after Joaquin Gonzalez?

At one of the two is relevant to Canes football in 2015.

To be honest I don't know who I want right now, but I know its not Richt.

He's too soft

Coker went 25-1 his first two years and won one NC and had one stolen. He is a bad example of hiring the wrong guy, had Coker not been fired, we would have been in a better spot in 2011 than we were.

I'm not sure about that.

No question Shannon was a horrible coach, but UM was under a death spiral under Coker.

12-0
12-1
11-2
9-3
9-3
7-6

At the end of Coker's term, we had to resort to stealing recruits from Arkansas State and the OC and QB coach wouldn't even talk to each other. Our recruiting was abysmal and would never have improved. Shannon ended kicking tons of Coker's dead weight players in his first two years.

If UM continued to employ Larry for another 5 years, we would never have won more than 7-8 games.
