Mark Walton Top Returning Running Back in the ACC

Has anyone talked about his pass protection yet?

He's highly underrated in that aspect. And it's likely the reason Yearby couldn't get on the field.

His pass catching ability was also something Richt liked going to late in the year.

I just don't understand the Mark Walton slander. 23 touchdowns in in 26 games. Threat out of the back field with 50 receptions and over 500 yards. Great balance. Good speed. Closed MULTIPLE games for us last year. He's not a Heisman back, but he's going to be All Conference next year. WTF am I missing?

He went from 3.5 in 2015 to 5.3 ypc in 2016. He's only 19 y/o.

Yearby went from 4.9 in 2015 to 6.0 ypc in 2016. Yearby didn't even get invited to the NFL Combine.

To answer the WTF Am I missing question - You're missing his entire Freshman year, and the month of October his Sophomore year. I can't understand why people act like neither of those things happened.

Incredible balance, incredible fitness and energy, and pretty terrible vision. Solid workhorse back who is a credit to the team. Glad to have him. Not close to elite but you can win with guys like him.

God bless him.

October was a perfect storm of ****** offense.

****** gameplan, ****** play-calling, ****** blocking, ****** QB play, ****** play by the backs/receivers.

And then the second half of the ND game something clicked and they kind of never looked back.

October was a perfect storm of ****ty offense.

****ty gameplan, ****ty play-calling, ****ty blocking, ****ty QB play, ****ty play by the backs/receivers.

In October before the ND game we played GT/FSU/UNC/VT:

Walton - 64 carries - 203 yds - 3.17 ypc - 1 TD. Longest run was 14 yards. Only had 2 runs that went for 10 yards.
Yearby - 38 carries - 237 yds - 6.23 ypc - 2 TD. Had 2 40+ runs

If everything was so ****ty, then how did Yearby play so well?

Orange and Green goggles you got on.

Games against UVA and NCST Walton put together maybe two productive quarters. The other six he struggled mightily. He was virtually nonexistent the entire bowl game too. So if that's clicking we're going to be asking a **** of a whole lot on whatever QB ends up starting.

As far as October, as ****** as it was, you look back at the UNC game for example and Yearby absolutely balled while Walton struggled.

To say this dude is anything but a workhorse back that you'd expect from a Miami RB is stupid.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

Honest and objective.
