Mark Walton News

Let's also understand why the kid had his license su
spended. He didn't pay a speeding ticket. It is possible he didn't have the money to pay for his ticket.

Where are you getting all this from? You also said they didn't pull him over? What did he do turn himself in?

Read the report. He happened to be where they were. He was in his car (but had not been pulled over) at some point when he was asked to take a sobriety test of some sort. He and they were already at the location. He was not pulled over.

[QUO
TE=Tad Footeball;2526905]Looks like the kid is still in lockup. Surprised nobody has bonded him out yet. Richt letting him spend a night in TGK on purpose? Damnnnn. Wonder if Mama Duke is working?

He was just released.

Like I said, there's nothing about impersonating an officer
This crap is all over haha people always blow up when it's Miami. You don't hear about the constant DUI's, sexual assaults and other stupid **** that goes down up north.

In Miami-Dade, a first time DUI offender is getting processed through the "Back on Track" Mulligan Program where you do some Community Service and pay some fines/fees to have your charged dropped to reckless driving.

I can't imagine him getting docked more than a game or two. Bad timing more than anything.

Impersonating a police officer?

How so?
Was he at a local 7-11 eating a donut and thumbing through gun magazines?

He was arrested. Heard it was DUI and an issue with an officer.

The later part of your statement is obviously where the real issue could be. These freaking kids love to needlessly exacerbate things once they get in or think they're in trouble.
You've obviously never dealt with Miami police officers.

So were gonna blame the police now?

You're right more often than not if you choose to blame to the police--just saying.

Most departments have three different types of offices in about equal numbers. 1/3 become law enforcement because they have a calling and act in professional manner in most circumstances. Another third just want job. These probably spend most of the time drinking coffee and staying out of the way. The last third are more likely to be looking to knock heads. If you run your mouth to a cop and have one of the last kind, it does not end well.

He was just released.

Miami-Dade really must be the slowest place in the country to release people arrested on misdemeanors even after they've posted bond.

The computer system is good for "going down" at least once per day for a "while." (seriously) The little fax machine the departments use to get the release orders and whatnot are good for running out of ink a few times a day, too. (again, seriously).

Kevin Olsen exhibits a pattern of this **** and the poor baby just needs help.

Mark Walton isnt even drunk and he is trash that needs to get booted, isnt worth the time or effort and doesnt deserve a 2nd chance.

hmmmm....

As a former cop, this comment has me ROTFLMAO!

As a former cop who (surprisingly) wasn't booted off a repeat offender DUI case jury in another state, I say if Walton took this to trial, he would get off. What I observed:

- Call it the BLM effect (and that includes white perceptions) but people are really suspicious of LE motives when stopped and they are your jury pool. Everyone has a camera and You Tube is filled with viseos showing LE personnel in a bad light.

- The police have cameras and it is causing officers to get lazy, relying on the digital images to be the evidence the prosecutor uses to get a conviction; my experience was the opposite, at full length, it led many jurors to question the arresting officer's integrity.

- Field Sobriety Tests are still a joke and if not presented to the offender perfectly, will be ripped up by any halfway decent defense attorney. The walk and turn looks difficult to most sober jurors (we are a more obese society now) and the one legged stand is judged the same by them. Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus is still not understood by the layman and most documentation accompanying the test is poorly written by LE personnel who need English 101, not another CJ class.

The suspended license is troubling, but that happens a lot on routine traffic stops.

They should replace one of the field tests with pupil dilation...firefighter/paramedic use it to see how well the brain's reacting and you see it at its best during head injuries, Drug calls, and even diabetic emergencies(if they're still conscious) because all of these alter the brain in some way causing abnormalities in the pupils reaction...I could literally teach a chimp how to do it properly don't know why it isn't used by police officers CaneFan79

I'd still like to know how the stop or interaction was initiated. It's unclear from the police report.

Was he driving? Was he just in his car? It's poorly written, but the report makes it sound like the initiating officers stopped him regarding the impersonating an officer incident and then discovered/decided he was drunk and initiated protocol for the DUI.

Praying he bounces back man, feel terrible for him

Yeah, it's crazy how this young man gets as much, or more, media attention
than other college football players charged with much more serious crimes but,
unfortunately, that comes with being a Cane.
Lesson to be learned by Officer Walton and his teammates.

He was 185 coming out of HS early, and he's up to 194 after only 8 months in the program, most of that under Swasey. I like it.

Are you feeling unloved right now?
