Mark Walton News

Lmfao! Yeah, let's blame the police for this, or any other college idiot who gets drunk and in trouble. That'll teach future idiots to be bigger idiots than the current idiots.

Blame the cops because they got you ****faced???...look don't give me he's a kid ****, I'm his same age or near it and when I go out with my boys we always have a plan to get home and not get in trouble rather it's uber, taxi, or even the county bus if we need too because if we get a DUI then we all can't be firefighters. There's no way excuse for being an idiot no if, and's, or buts

Can you get in contact with Coach Richt so you can give a seminar on how to live life? Please? You're just better than most. Thank you for your comment.
Did he get pulled over?? Yes or no??

You're a persistent one. I have no idea. I wasn't there. Also, why am I on trial? If you had read the thread properly, you would have seen my comment about accountability and making amends for ones wrongs. I'm all for accountability. My original comment that you keep insisting on was simply a comment on how ****ty cops are in general, especially in Miami. It was clear that I qualified my comment properly by saying "just saying" at the end of it, making it a general comment about cops--not this situation.

In fact, a different poster cited a previous situation with another former player of ours, Jon Vilma. Go ahead and try reading the thread again. You'll learn something.

I agree with you, if the kid is wrong then he is wrong, but lets not act as if the Police don't hit people with bogus charges.

I'm hoping for only a short suspension. He can really thrive in this offense with his pass catching ability and losing him would be a big loss.

I'm guessing it's a short suspension as this is the first time he's been in trouble (that we know of).

Rumor is that he was impersonating a cop by pulling over a woman and he groped her. If true, he's done. Unfortunate, because another P5 school will pick him up, so we may as well just suspend him for a year and use his redshirt.

Most of the time DUI charges are just bs a pig ***** as cop will make up just to ruin someone else's day life etc..... More than half the driving population drives under the influence to some degree all the time. A pig cop can just say you're DUI and you get arrested for it. Unless Mark Walton was really a drunk mess driving than I expect the is charge to be dropped and Walton back on the team.

So cops make up DUIs, or half the population drives drunk. Can't have it both ways.

The later part of your statement is obviously where the real issue could be. These freaking kids love to needlessly exacerbate things once they get in or think they're in trouble.
You've obviously never dealt with Miami police officers.

So were gonna blame the police now?

You're right more often than not if you choose to blame to the police--just saying.

Clearly it is better to blame someone else than take personal accountability.

It's the democratic way....probably a Hillary or Bernie supporter.

He had his head out the window yelling "woo ooo wooo ooo"

Remember cops have to make quota!!!!

And you are probable a Republican who lives in the middle of no where and think Police are Angels.

I agree with you, if the kid is wrong then he is wrong, but lets not act as if the Police don't hit people with bogus charges.

We should always try to reserve judgment in either direction. I doubt anyone here was there and has personal knowledge of the incidents. It would be ignorant to think that cops are anything close to perfect. "Who police the police?" Of course, that is a general comment; but, I think a general comment like that is permissible here because WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. If Mark really did ***** up, then he needs to make amends--obviously.

He was arrested. Heard it was DUI and an issue with an officer.

The later part of your statement is obviously where the real issue could be. These freaking kids love to needlessly exacerbate things once they get in or think they're in trouble.

Right....i am sure its the officers fault

It is Mark Walton's fault..He is just pointing out that Miami Police officers are crooked.

On every issue the people of this country are figuratively crabs in a boiling pot.

hes an idiot, he's only 18, he should yes sir and no sir the police, the police are corrupt, etc etc....in my opinion everything being said is insignificant.

DUI/DWI and all variations are bogus and should not be enforceable. i mean, this is a law that punishes you for violating nothing but itself. No laws or civil liberties are broken, threatened or imposed on by a drunk driver. if a person is driving recklessly or speeding he/she should be charged as such but pulling someone over and imposing on their liberties because he/she may or may not get in an accident is just madness. it literally is minority report; where you are being charged before a crime is committed.

He chose to drink and he chose to make the bad decision of driving; DEFINITELY a bad decision but bad decisions are NOT illegal. i've had unprotected *** plenty of times and im sure many in this forum have as well. Bad decision but we all have a right to take risk until we impose on the civil liberties of someone else. the government shouldnt me checking to make sure we are all doing it right. No drunk drivers should be arrested until a real law is broken. You can argue he threatened the safety of the public, bu the public has no inherent right to safety - thats why cops patrol the streets.

Im sorry for making this political but it just always suprises me how we championed our wars with cries of "they hate our freedom" but we are so quick to give ours away at home. Also, funny how EVERY bar has parking lot...hmmm

Not a huge loss cause our depth at running back but very unfortunate walton bleeds green and orange if I remember correctly was also only running back to stick with us two years ago. Thought he'll have a big year but wish him the best in this situation

Regardless, everyone on the team needs to feel the consequences of this. Only way to teach them to look out for each other and keep each other in line.

I totally agree with you...The problem occurs when people believe everything in the Police report, and when a poster says "hey, remember what happened with Vilma", is a prime example of a bogus charge. If Mark Walton is wrong then he is wrong and no one else's fault. I just don't see the problem with questioning the Police because they are know for making stuff up.

LOL at the holier than thou ***** on this board. You don't know any facts, and you're already burying Walton. 95% of people 18 or over have driven with some sort of intoxicant in their system. The only difference between you judgmental ***** and Walton is he got caught.

That is actually a very good point. Never thought of it like that.

It's a shame. College kids do stupid stuff. It's part of growing up. He's reportedly has a good head on his shoulders and I think he'll learn from this mistake. Coach Richt will handle this appropriately. I don't see him being dismissed, I think Richt stands by him unless a pattern develops. He's a Canes and his Cane family should stand by him. I hope for Mark's sake this is an outlier because he has a bright future ahead of him.

Go Canes!

Until you have your wife and daughter killed by a drunk driver, shut the F up! I love the canes, but if any player is driving drunk, and perhaps trying to grope women he forced over, he should not worry about football, he needs to worry about jail.
