Mark Walton case falling apart (link)....

So you can be charged with DUI... and then the State Attorney can have you by the balls and "decide" months later, If its a DUI or something else??? wow gotta love the concept of "FREEDOM" and "JUSTICE" in this country. smh

Also don't agree with students being "hated" by CG police. Not my experience at all. In fact vast majority of students never even deal with CGPD

Maybe it's just a matter of incompetence. It's rampant in the USA.

the **** we deal with--thats a tuesday up in tallahassee

You cats off the chain. On a serious note, I bet they never tell those bro-hams the meaning of "rebels". They were students who left school to fight to defend southern rights to do to Blacks whatever they wanted (slavery). They would yell before attacking and it became known as the rebel yell and thus rebels. Off point, but how Bros got there to bring victory to those peoples lives is unbelievable.

Sorry meant to post on Ole Miss post. Carry on without me.

They put these green rookie prosecutors in dui court and they don't like to break down these cases. But this is absurd. The adults need to step in and dismiss this case or offer him some kind of slap on the wrist deal.

Miami and CG give this school and its students no respect at all. Cops are probably FSU, UF, or even FIU fans. These douches hate UM and everything about it. The students were absolutely HATED while I as there and I don't think anythings changed over the years from what I've seen. They sure like to collect our money, though. A-holes.

Not true. Arresting college kids and putting them through the system is big business in Tally and Gville. For the football players though... Not so much.

Bingo, at least for the Prosecutor - FIU grad: https://www.linkedin.com/in/nicole-garcia-5b053260

So she worked in Ros-Lehtinen's office and is pushing this? A Barry JD? Somebody in D.C. needs to make a phone call to let her know that Marilyn Moseby is not a good role model for her...

Yeah, I've never had to deal with CG police, only the UMPD, and the most they've ever done was check my ID and help me to my room.

She would get it.

Yep. The students deal mainly with UM Five0.

Lol, campus cops are willing to overlook all sorts of things. At least they were in the 90s. And does this sound like the Shapiro thing to anyone? Lots of smoke, very little actual evidence, but hey lets nail the kid anyway.

Walton blew under the legal limit for an adult but over for a minor. He told the driver that cut him off what for and they called the police. Some how they are trying to see if he impersonated an officer IMO -thats the other issue the prosecutors say they are addressing . The case is as weak as it can be. What about a reckless driving charge against the other driver.?Of course not.

Best experience with Police I've ever had was with the CGPD and UMPD. The year was 2007, it was the eve of my graduation from UM and my brother was in town to help me celebrate. We spent a quiet evening/early morning relaxing at B.T.'s before my brother walked back to campus and passed out in the sand volleyball court at the fraternity house where I lived and served as a graduate advisor.

After we woke him and told him to go crash inside, he instead somehow made his way to his car and began a 4am search for a McDonalds. Instead of going to the one on US1, not knowing the area he ventured into Coral Gables. Exhausted by his fruitless quest, he soon pulled over to the side of the road to take a quick nap, eventually to be awaken by the tapping of a CGPD flashlight on his window.

He casually mentioned his brother was a graduate advisor at UM and his other brother worked in the crime lab for Miami Dade PD. CGPD called UMPD who came to my room and woke me up (about 6am now, def still hammered) pulled out a map and showed me where my brother was so I could go get him and keep him from being arrested. It was a lot of fun telling my parents a few hours later what had happened and embarrassing my brother!

these prosecutors are terrible, especially in lower divisions like this. most of them are incompetent and that is why they work there because they could not get a job elsewhere. they start their careers prosecuting people who steal milk crates (true story) and work up the system to more serious crimes, so they get rotated out every few months and have a case load of about 1000.
