Mark Stoops

I like stoops and once thought he could be the coach here but he needed to show more this yr than he has. I'd pass

He'd supposedly retain Coley, which makes him a hard pass.

Next.

Again I think that was a rumor. He has hired Neal Brown and Shannon Dawson, both good offensive minds.

Everyone knows I like Stoops, think he would do well here. That said I want a few guys much more, namely Herman and Fuente.

To me Herman is a no brainer. Everything he says and does just fits Miami perfectly.

Recently signed a contract extension and is making close to $3 million a year at Kentucky. Would end up costing UM more than twice as much as someone like Butch.

Doesn't he play that Ohio St O with a 3-4?

Not sure those systems fit Miami.

I think he is somewhat mediocre and only great as a coordinator. The U has to do better this time around, has to.

He's a good coach but he's learning on the job at Kentucky. He's an excellent recruiter (look at how much better UK has done with him in that department). Would lock down much if the Soyth Florida talent as he's great with convincing kids they want to be a part of what he's building.

Defensively, he's multiple and develops talent. Turned Dupree into a 1st rounder. Has a lot of different looks, but doesn't have the personnel yet to run it.

Offensively he's hired two Air Raid coordinators. Neither are great but both were good gets. Wanted TCUs coordinators when he came. Wants to hire the best people he can.

Very excitable coach. Does a great job marketing the program. Do not judge off his record. UK has improved tremendously and is built like an SEC team now in many positions (as opposed to a Big East team).

Not a first tier hire. But infinitely better than Cristobal. Miami could do better, but they could do much worse.

If that's the case no ******* thank you. Coley is just as bad at what he does (in terms of being an OC) as Golden and D'Onfrio are at what they do.

We need to wipe the slate clean.

I think he'll actually get the job. I was high on him early in the year but he just hasn't impressed. We can do better

yep but apparently thats not convincing enough for the coach evaluators on this board

Stoops is below Herman and Fuente. If, for nothing else, because he's a former DC and is more conservative than I prefer.

But, for me, he'd fall in the group "I wouldn't hate", which includes; Schiano, Kiffin, or Holgorsen.

This guy gets an awful lot of hype for failing at Kentucky. I'm guessing if his name was Mark James no one would be talking about him. The guy's done absolutely nothing to distinguish himself at Kentucky.

It's easy for a coach to take a horrible team and make them mediocre. Even Folden did that at Temple. Poops hasn't even managed to do that yet.
