was excellent defensive coordinator at FSU and is supposedly interested in Miami.

I am Butch first guy but Stoops would be an exciting hire also.

As I was born and raised in the Commonwealth, I have an opinion about Coach Stoops. Really good coach at KY. He was left with no talent when he arrived, really has improved KY football since he has been there. My people say the only school they think he would leave KY for are Ohio State and Miami. They are worried. I am torn, want him here, but love him there. Don't think he will leave KY. He loves living there, Lexington is nice. He is from Ohio therefore close enough to family and friends. KY has upgraded stadium, recruiting room, training facilities etc. Just don't think timing is right, now.

Guy has been there a few years and they are still horrible. Randy had a pretty good defense at Miami, how'd that work out?
 
He's underwhelmed at Kentucky. 2-10, 5-7 (after 5-1 start), 4-3. 0-8 in the SEC, 2-6, 2-3. His SEC wins are USC twice, Vandy and this year's horrible Mizzou. His other wins have come against Miami, OH, Alabama State, UT-Martin, Ohio, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana-Lafayette, and Eastern Kentucky. And, before anyone says, "But it's Kentucky...." Hal Mumme was 7-5 and 6-6 at UK in the late 90s. Guy Morriss was 7-5 at UK in 2002, and more recently Rich Brooks went 8-5, 8-5, 7-6, 7-6, including a bowl win over Florida State.
 
Should be somewhere around plan F or G. Much better names out there. Wouldn't be bad but there's much better.

They are not horrible. Considering what he was left with after Joker Phillips left, he has done wonders. Did you not read what I wrote?

Did you not read what I wrote? What have they done? Let alone anything wonderful or full of wonders.
 
With South Fla talent, he would have the defense beasty but what else? Have no idea what else he would bring to the table. Not sure if he's a great recruiter or good at putting a staff together. Definite upgrade over Golden, although that's not saying much.
 
I think stoops is a good coach I just never understood why he took the Kentucky job. He should have waited out for a job like this to come up. He doomed himself going to Kentucky sec is too tough for the likes of Kentucky to make a quick turn around
