Mark Stoops

Kentucky was one of the worst P5 jobs in America when he took over. They had just gone 4-20 in conference under Joker Phillips the previous 3 years. He'd be stepping into a Ferrari compared to what he had when he started at UK

You hit the nail right on the head. He's turned UK into a consistent winner, in the $EC.

Giving him a pass on his first season at UK, he's 56-43 since. Will take them to their sixth straight bowl. He's done a phenomenal job there.

I’d love to have him and Brad White - his DC - but he would have to get a new OC and improve over some other staff members before I got too excited.
Liam Coen is his current OC. He was with the Rams as a wr coach. Stoops isn't married to a certain offensive style, he knows the offense had to be opened up. He would have no problem bringing in a quality OC at Miami, especially with TVD as qb.

He would easily be my second call. I'm not sold on Lane being able to build a program. Although I do think he will do quite well down here for a few years with the weapons we have right now before the wheels fall off and he leaves.

In no particular order.

Mario Cristobal.
Lane Kiffin.
Dave Aradna.
Mark Stoops.
Tom Herman.
Mike Leech.
Hugh Freeze.

I realize that both Aradna and Freeze have recently signed extensions but both would have been excellent candidates.

Assuming that we actually hire an AD in the next 3-4 days and it's either Jurich or Highsmith then it would also be safe to assume that Diaz is toast.

Now, assuming that either of the aforementioned gentlemen take the AD position and that they fire Diaz, we can also safely assume that the Mas brothers/Ruiz/Columbus Mafia will indeed be giving this program the cash infusion that it so desperately needs. This leads to the safe assumption that Cristobal will get the 1st call. We can also assume that since the Columbus Mafia is in the driver's seat with cash in hand that they will outline an incredibly appealing and convincing vision of the future of the program along with a sound business plan of how to get back to among the elite of college football. At this juncture, one would have to assume that Mario, after taking everything into careful consideration would come to the logical conclusion that this would be an opportunity that he couldn't possibly turn down. The chance to come back home and lead his alma mater back to glory would have seemed like a practical impossibility a few months ago. However now that Blake is gone and somehow a new faction with insane amounts of money wants to pour it into the University of Miami football program in order to get the program back into the elite of college football where it belongs. In addition to that there will be a complete rebuilding of the entire administration. Finally everyone at UM will be on the same page. The university will be completely behind the football program and support anything that must be done to ensure a winning culture. In this scenario it's safe to assume that Mario says yes.

Assuming Mario Cristobal does indeed become the next head football coach at the University of Miami, the most interesting question/s will be......

Who is Mario going to hire to be the OC?
Who is Mario going to hire to be the DC?

The money will be there so it's quite safe to assume that everyone on this board will be expecting both to be home run hires. As they should be.

Until a vote of confidence comes MD will be here for another 1-2 years.

It’s not me but the way it is , a vote of confidence tells all is aware and concerned so far nothing so that’s it.

So type away to hearts content .

GOCANES

Currently housing Louisville on his way to his 9th win (10 if they win the bowl). Only losses were to UGA and Miss St. on the road and a 3 point loss to Tennessee. He's my third call if Lane or Mario say no
I think Stoops would be a great hire. But I am also with the group that wanted Bill and Amy's kid to be our QB. Unfortunately he only had one 400 yard game.
This is "The U" - We want shinny objects. "Lane Train", "Pirate", "Primetime", "Crystalb@lz", and a QB that is a Netflix star.

GO CANES!!!

Been banging the drum for Stoops for awhile now. It still shocks me that someone with the last name Stoops could be doing so well at a doormat program and not get more media coverage. If we get Jurich for AD you gotta think Stoops would be at the top of his list especially with him having front row seats to witness what he's done at UK while he was at Louisville all those years.

great coaches do not stay at a program like Kentucky. there is a reason he's been there for a decade. Gary Patterson has a better winning percentage and has recruited better but I don't see anyone clamoring for him to be hired.

if he finishes with the 14th ranked class, it will be the first time he's finished in the Top 20 his whole career at Kentucky.

Think he is by far the safest choice. Would get the program back on track. Problem for him is that the fan base would get bored of 10 wins seasons fast and soon would want another chip.
You mean like once every 15 years as is practice here. 10 wins gets ACCCG at least 60 percent of the time

ALOT of teams wanted Patterson from 07-2018...JJ told Shalala to hire him...unfortunately Camel Toes turned around and hired Shannon...

Only 2 teams kept Georgia within 20 points all season - Kentucky was one of them. And Georgia might have more 5 star recruits on their current roster than Kentucky has landed in their school’s entire history lol.

Also Kentucky had not finished a season with 9+ wins in over 30 years, and Stoops has now done it twice in the past 4 years. I’d be excited to get him.

Your willing to turn the team over to a guy that has won one more game than Mario in the past three years? A coach that been at his school for 9 seasons with one ten win season in that time? Are you willing to give him nine years to build a program? I think Mark is a good guy, but he's not a UM coach, especially with his passing game. My prediction, hire Mark Stoops and everybody will be calling for him to be fired in 3-4 years.
