Mark Stoops video on Miami job

His answer is my thoughts exactly. He needs to win more games before we consider him to come to Miami. I don't doubt he's wanting to squeak out a couple 7-5 seasons and find his escape route. If not, he's going to get fired and find himself back as a coordinator.

It's interesting. Miami could be an interesting job for a lot of the SEC coaches outside of Bama, LSU and UF. The rest of those guys are looking at really wide swings in success from year to year and a constant life on the hot seat. Miami in the ACC doesn't have that issue. A good coach has a 9-win floor at Miami in the Coastal. A great coach has an 11 win floor.

Stoops inherited a 2-10 football team and they have gotten better each year but don't really have any quality wins.

Interested to see how they finish but I love his defense and his current OC was under Holgorson at WVU

plus who wanted to play at kentucky? i mean he has a real talent deficiency

Stoops is a good coach - there are several guys I'd want ahead of him of course, but I think he'd do well.

People saying he hasnt done anything at UK forget that he is coaching at.....UK!! Nick Saban couldnt make them a powerhouse.

Wasnt Stoops the D-Coordinator at FSU as well after he left UM? He was **** good there from what I remember.

I agree with the poster who said he might keep Coley. Which scares me. So because of that I would have to say No.

But people have to be delusional if they dont think UM is a great job. People see whats down here. There is talent AND you have Brad Kaaya for 2 more years..There are alot of coaches who secretly hope that Blake gives them a ring.

we have heard golden say he handcuffed coley but i need to see something over the next week. It's clear Stoops would come.
he wants to recruit florida, can get the athletes he wants, and would be in ACC not SEC which is easier path to BCS

THIS IS PURELY BASED ON TODAY

He has (11) total wins. 7 of them are against: ULL, EKU, ULM, Tenn-Martin, Ohio, Miami (OH) and Alabama State.

The other 4 wins were against:

2014 Vandy 3-9 (0-8)
2014 South Carolina 7-6 (3-5)
2015 South Carolina 3-4 (1-4)
2015 Missouri 4-4 (1-4) By far the most impressive win

I am not impressed TODAY. Maybe in 2 years, he might have something much better. Somehow and someway Rich Brooks was able to lead Kentucky to 4 straight bowls games in the conference. He even won 8 games twice. If he gets to 3-4 Conference wins this season and keeps improving, he deserves some serious talk in the future. At this point NO thanks.

Stoops knows he needs to win more. IDK if he lands this job but i do feel he will get UK going and somebody is going to get a solid coach.

TODAY he is not the guy.

Brooks did much better than stoops. Stoops has signed some decent classes but that's all he can hang his hat on.

I'm not opposed to Mark. He's been part of the ACC, SEC, and is well connected. Given the checkbook, I think he would put together one helluva coaching staff!

hes still playing with joker phillips quarterback....think stoops is a good recruiting year away from being very competitive in the SEC. Like others ahead of him but he would be a top 5 candidate

Joker left an absolute dumpster fire behind.
