Mark Stoops off the board

Meanwhile, in Miami....

Interesting. Surprised he would not entertain an interview here unless he was told the job is not open.
I double-dog dare you to try and make a 10 minute phone call with Strawley.

Stoops was interested in the job. Miami is infatuated with one coach and one coach only. I'm sure Stoops couldn't wait any longer for this infatuation to fizzle out and who blames him. I think we wasted a better opportunity with him being our HC but that's me.

But ask yourself - if Stoops is so great, why didn't Oklahoma try to hire him? His brother practically runs that program. What do they know that we don't?

Should have been a program changing offseason.

Hire a legit competent AD. Keep the Miami former athletes away from the AD office. Target these candidates:
Lane/Gundy
Stoops/Aranda

Mario

Instead we are talking about Nunez, Strawley, Zo, Toretta, Mario, and Diaz.
If we were an actual legitimate program the timeline would've looked like this:

-- Blake snakes his way into hiring Manny because he thinks the football universe is only as big as Coral Gables, thus Manny is a home run hire.
-- The admin is alarmed by the hire, but instead of putting their hands up and saying nothing you can do about it, he's put on extremely thin ice
-- Miami loses to FIU and the next day Blake is fired
-- New AD search is conducted in a relaxed fashion
-- New AD chooses to either keep first year HC Manny or not
-- If he keeps him, he almost assuredly fires him after the 1-4 start this year, and our HC search looks a lot like USC's this year

Voila

Instead, we live in bizarro world down here and Blake James was sitting pretty comfortable up until the NCST game.

I feel like a big minority here. But, I like that we’re getting a coach with great experience who is still and willing to grow and improve. I know the certain losses and division are probably seen as detriments, but I think he can very quickly be a top 5 coach.

Holy Sh*t man!! I tried to type something in part similar to this last night but not including your first 5 points. It obviously didn't come out quite as pointed and as elegant as this. I just went straight to point #6, lol.

Love it!! Fvvvking spot on.

Maybe they want a flashy hire with a more **** name I don't know. Maybe they were interested but he wasn't we don't know. All I know he does a lot with less and he would kill it here.

realize that there is a reason he hasn't left Kentucky. clearly the people doing the hiring don't think as highly of him as y'all do.

oh you mean those idiots that have us for 20 years now being some laughing stock? Yes let's trust them!

these morons are gonna wait till they're all gone just for mario to leave them on the alter, and thankfully i'll be gone from this place when they announce, "well uhm we put all the eggs in one basket, manny is all we got left"
