Awesome!! Richt is one good dude that's for sure and he is going to bring #6 to Miami. Super glad and thankful he is our coach

The biggest knock on Richt is that he didn't win a ring at Georgia. Guess what, no one did for 20 years before him either. Georgia is a lot like Florida. There's absolutely zero excuse for them not winning all the rings every year. Just on the surface, the best three programs in the country should be Florida, Georgia and Alabama. And only one of those programs fits that bill.

Richt did well at Georgia getting South Florida guys. We're getting close to the point he can get anyone he wants from South Florida. The STA pipeline shifting in our direction will be huge. All the stars align for Richt. He's a very good, disciplined, experienced coach, who has a reputation for both recruiting and developing players well. His personality and approach will work at Miami at least as well, if not better than it did at Georgia. If you can lock down SFL and coach the players right, no one is going to beat you.

People tend to forget that Larry Coker and Dennis Erickson represent THREE of the five 'Canes rings. The former never did much of anything after The U and the latter is a meh coach at best. Howard Schnellenberger was a competent program manager. So was Butch Davis. So is Mark Richt. And everyone on earth pretty much agrees that had the first two stayed, there's no telling how many rings they would have won.

Richt isn't going to leave Miami if he has any say about it.

UGA has won 2 titles in their history.

Historically they shouldn’t be a top 3 program.
75 plus years of history says they shouldn’t be a top 10 program much less top 3.

Miami
Alabama
Southern Cal
Ohio state
Michigan
Oklahoma
Texas
Notre Dame
FSU
Florida
Penn State
Nebraska

Then you got your:

Tennessee
LSU
Michigan State

UGA
Clemson

No disrespect towards you but I stop reading when you said Florida and Georgia should be the best three programs in the country

before the new AD took alot of control from Richt, Richt was unreal at UGA who had nothing but herschel walker and garrison hearst before him.
he was a great OC at FSU. People tell me he is way tougher and much more a savage than people think

Resources and recruiting base. I'm not saying NOW. Both programs should have been dominating since the 60's and never let go.

I think it's hilarious that both their fanbases think they're among the national elite. They aren't. But there isn't a good reason for it.

They SHOULD be because they're the big, state school in one of the best recruiting areas in the country. Alabama is right next door and crushing it, and probably has less resources as a school than UGA. The fact is they aren't, and there's no excuse for it.

CMR is a legend in the coaching category!! This man has had some really talented players come up under him and some are still doing their thang is the NFL and his biggest knock is "him not winning a ring at UGA with the talent he possessed in his 15 year tenured there".. BUT CMR here at Miami is on the same level of Jimmie Johnson and Butch Davis here, he just needs time to recruit the talent he needs to get to championship level!! Some fans just expect for CMR to be able to turn this program into elite status over night and it doesn't happen like that, BUT as we all see he is really turning Miami into a national powerhouse year after year..

Miami will WIN a National Title under CMR, my prediction is 2019!! (IF the staff can get this year's Junior class to hang around for their Senior year, I'm calling it)

Roy Williams couldnt win at KU but when he returned to his alma mater, he started winning and competing for rings every year. The same thing WILL happen with Mark Richt!
