How quickly Miami fans forget!

When President Foote stepped down and Shalala stepped in, her directions from the Board were clear “make Miami the Harvard of the South” In her tenure she accomplished that and so much more! She increased attendance, graduation and she tried to eliminate Miami’s football tradition. So we hired Golden, a white shirt, tie wearing white guy from the Northeast. Golden would have never been fired if it was not for the embarrassing Clemson loss

So here comes Mark Richt, a clean cut, Christian man, who is the marketing face for the new U. He has embraced Miami, minority families love him, has donated monies to the university, and is keeping the goals of the university moving forward! Recruitment is great and students are graduating and not getting in trouble.

The best the fans are getting is a new OC! He is the football CEO and he will remain in Miami until he retires!

Stop wasting your breath, texting energy and being angry, your words do not matter!

Okay great so when retires then we have a chance of being an elite program, because it will not happen under his watch. I am not interested in saving souls, I want a coach that can win championships in this era of college football, regardless if he has great Christian values or not.

Did anyone on here really think there was even a 1% chance he'd be fired after the Virginia game?

Lol. nah, if Richt ain't getting the job done, he will get fired. Plain and simple. There are football fans on the BoT.

Firing Mark Richt after the loss to UVA would be a terrible decision. He was still 5-2 with a chance to win the ACC for the first time. Even right now, I don't think Mark Richt will keep the job...but firing him right now would not be good for anyone.

I'm pretty certain there's very few, living under the delusion, that believe he'll be fired or step down - but some staff changes need to be made. Not sure what a coaches race or religiosity have to do with anything, but obsess over what you want.

His body language says he is exhausted....this isn't what he signed up for. He has plenty of money to retire.... maybe work out a settlement.

Deep down he knows he should have walked away from CFB for at least an year or two after UGa. He was mentally and physically shot.

He jumped into the UM job under pressure to salvage his ego and without much thought.

He won't be fired but hopefully he will retire...

Miami is not “Harvard of the South,” or even close. Sorry. Not in terms of academic rigor, brand value, tradition, endowment, research, or any other metric.

Top of my head, the best schools in the south are Duke, Vandy, UVA, and Rice....maybe forgetting someone. And even those schools are not close to Harvard’s level.

Miami is in the next tier of schools after that.

And I went to Miami as an undergrad, and loved it. But stop with the nonsense.

Richt isn’t getting fired anytime soon,

Seriously Randy Shannon got 4 years. And Al Golden got 4.5.

Building on what I said earlier, Miami’s issues as an academic institution mirror the issues of the football program. The trustees are simply too greedy and profit-oriented to make the needed sacrifices and investments that would need to happen to raise the school’s profile.

If Miami wants to be an elite academic school, they need to admit fewer students and be more selective in their admissions. They need to sacrifice revenue for selectivity.

They need to spend more money on elite professors and fund interesting research.

They need to grade on a curve and kick out underperforming students. They need to toughen up the course load.

They need to invest more in extracurriculars, such as an entrepreneurship lab, a better library with interesting works, a museum, a better arts/theatre infrastructure....and they need a much better alumni outreach operation.

They need a much better job fair and they need to invest more in career development resources.

All of this would increase Miami’s profile considerably, but it would cost money upfront....sonething the trustees at Miami are seemingly allergic to.

Actually almost the entire board seems to be under this delusion.

They matter when I wipe my *** with your porst and flush the toilet....

Yeah your right...Let's follow those Textbook examples of Pure Stupidity...

I’m not saying I agree with Richt being kept a long time. I’m just stating the facts.

It’s almost a rule of thumb at most places (not just Miami) that coaches are kept for a year or 2 longer than the fans want them to be kept. In a large part this is because the school, not the fans, has to pay the buyout.

Too F-ing Bad....That's the school's fault they have to pay the buyout when THEY were the ones to Hire 2nd rate Bums and then give them undeserved extensions....

*slaps the top of the 2018 Canes team*

This baby is still good for two more losses this season.
