More often than not elite talent wins out. But there are tons of elite level coaches that turn 2star talent into 4star production. And that’s why Saban has been so good, elite talent AND great coaches. And even then that still doesn’t guarantee a championship.

The talent level at Miami has increased exponentially each year since Richt has been here, BUT there has been enough questionable decisions by Richt on game days and coaching hires that keeps the gap between Bama OSU Clemson and Georgia obvious

Talent is a prerequisite to winning a national title, I think we can agree on that.

With Richt, he has no choice but to play the hand he has been dealt which means Rosier at QB and a subpar OL. I am the patient type. We will be a little better next year and a lot better going forward on a consistent basis.

I think back to when everyone wanted Larry Coker fired as OC. Then Kelly goes down and Dorsey tears it up. No one wanted Coker fired at the end of 2000, because his O looked pretty darn good with a better QB. Heck, Dorsey wasn't some amazing QB with other-worldly talent, he was just a guy that could make the throws he was asked to make, and pretty consistently. Rosier? The only thing he does consistently is kill drives.

You know, I normally give Rosier more credit than most around here--mainly because I believe he could be decent if our o-line was at least average, but one thing I think you're on to here is that Richt's offense would look much better with a better--or at least a taller-- QB. I think most of our apparent lack of creativity centers around Rosier's inability to see over the O-line on some routes. That's why we run so many outs, verts, skinny posts, and deep posts.

The lack of slants and crossing routes are obvious, but I saw Perry, at 6'5" able to make those routes that we all thought Richt never ran. He hit crossing routes, drags, and two quick slants for TDs. Suddenly we weren't limited to four GO routes.

People like to say we don't learn anything about playing teams like Savannah State, but I learned quite a bit. I saw N'kosi Perry be able to open up more of the offense. He still makes me a little nervous, but I'm hoping he gets serious burn against Toledo. If he can make those throws against a pretty **** decent FBS team, I might join the bench Rosier wagon. We know Rosier falls to pieces when the defense can get in his face. I'd like to see what Perry does in that arena. Toledo isn't capable of giving him what LSU gave us, but they are a considerable up-tick in competition from SSU.
