Mark richt on fixed problems at Miami

Yeeeeeeeeah.....

Listen, I appreciate Richt being open and honest, but dude.....you've been a head coach for 16 yrs prior to accepting our position and coached under arguably one of the best CFB coaches of all time in Bowden at two big time programs, respectfully. How does this happen under your watch w/ that type of experience? You hand picked your head trainer b/c of your familiarity w/ his work, so I'm just saying what happened?

@Earnest T. Bass glad to see you're still the same guy. It's refreshing.

I'm sure the first tweet was regarding to when he first got here.
It makes me wonder how bad things were under Shannon. Because there was no nutritionist under Shannon, and players were just eating at McDonalds. Golden pushes for and eventually got a nutritionist, but obviously from these comments it was still poor when Richt arrived.

Allow me to say the same of you. Here's an idea, try to imagine yourself in the now and actually make your way through just one post where from start to finish it is a positive thought about the Canes.

Then obviously you don't pay attention to my posts, b/c while it may be hard for you to understand my inability to be a homer, I gas up these Canes all the time. A fan is allowed to speak positively, and also voice concerns and frustrations, whether past or present. I don't live in a rainbow, sunshine plumped world. If I have an issue w/ something, Imma speak on it. If I love something, Imma speak on it. In either scenario, Imma keep it 100.

Use the context clues.

They have better dorms and a stadium(the dorms were just recently completed). WE weren't feeding them properly. He may have planned to get them to eat better, but how did it take 3 years to implement that?
I've formed a habit through the years of always trying to say things in the "proper" context when speaking to others - especially in group settings. Drive myself crazy sometimes. I've given speeches and had question and answer sessions that, unless your quick on your feet, can be difficult to keep things in the proper context.

Not making excuses because Richt was a HC for 18 years, but when speaking off the cuff in an interview situation, I'm sure context can get lost in the shuffle.

They I think was a reference to the team in general. We seemed to me as a generalization that included the football program as a whole. Using we doesn't throw former regimes under the bus. Using They in that quote would have specifically placed the onus on a former regime.

You have no idea about that. You are speculating just like everyone else. So it takes 4 year to implement a new feeding protocol so guys can get fed right?

I believe he was talking about when he first got here.

I thought what others thought also when I initially read the thread, but in retrospect, like more astute posters, I think he was talking about initially.

Nutrition has improved markedly in the last few years if you’ve been keeping up with the training table, hiring of nutritionists, etc.

he hired kyle bellamy in 16 (not sure if hes still there, but there's a 247 article on the improvements and changes made by bellamy)

That very well may be the case, but from the little blurb we got it is hard to be sure either way. I agree it has definitely gotten better since Golden was here.

Nutrition wasn’t the issue with Richt. Not hiring a top notch OC from jump, in the end, was his fatal mistake. Had he hired someone equivalent to Manny as an OC, it would have been a better outcome. Although I don’t think he would have ended up coaching for more than 5-6 years anyway, max.

But fate is fate. It was all meant to happen exactly as it did.

It’s fine to be upset on how things ended, but MR left this program 1000x better than he found it. And that includes walking away from a buy out that would have sunk us. Better players. Better infrastructure. Bowl game win. First coastal berth. NY6 bowl berth. Last year sucked, but Richt will always be good in my book. If we ever return to perennial top 10 status, we will thank Mark Richt for getting us off the mat

Richt the man and the CEO are second to none. I would be proud of myself if I carried myself in that way at all times. See below:

Are you implying that Thomas Brown was a coarch?

LOL at dudes thinking Rickety was taking blame; he was taking credit. He thinks he fixed the strength program with *******.

Just another example of him being out of touch. Glad he quit and stopped stealing checks, but he was a shot fighter.

This is like the captain of the Titanic taking credit for improved safety regulations on boats.

He was more shot than Muhammad Ali vs Trevor Berbick...
