Mark Richt (is not hurt)

The second part isn’t any small gesture. It puts him in the category of maybe <1% who have the moral compass to live that out.
100% agree. But my post is in response to another guy saying he never spoke ill of Richt, and that is simply not true. We all wanted to kill him and. his son during four game losing streaks, and offensive **** ball.

He’s true Miami Hurricane-It’s unfortunate that his health got in the way of him coaching Miami for a longer time-He would have eventually gotten us in-

I hope we can win our 6th title soon so he can enjoy seeing his alma mater at the top again.

I have nothing but high respect for coach Richt. I think it’s safe to say if we had him in his prime, we wouldn’t have fallen off the cliff like we did. In the few short years he was here, he made a great impact and it’s a shame he had to retire at such an early age. Wish him all the best in the coming years.

There's zero chance that his health stopped him from coaching at Miami.

Miami stopped him from coaching at Miami. His D-coordinator left for Temple. He promoted Patke and the Bartender, CIS and the fan base killed him for that. And Richt refused to fire his son, the QB coach, and hire an offensive coordinator/play caller to take his spot.

Of course I critized some of his decisions (keeping his son onboard) which is not speaking an ill word about him. Now did I speak ill of Shannon, Golden and the former mayor's son for their bone headedness, in the words of the late great Don Corneilus, "you can bet your last money" I did.

I forgot about what you stated-You’re exactly right.
I think eventually his health would have been a factor.

He should be invited to the sidelines of the game vs A&M. Man earned it. Started turning this program around, and Mario is finishing the job.

I always wonder how differently 2017 would have played out if Kayaa had stuck around another year. Rosier had a lot of guts and more scrambling ability, definitely made a lot of big plays, but what would a pure passer have done with that team? Not sure we would have beaten Clemson, but doubt we got upset by Pitt and may have still made the playoffs.
Rosier played his *** off, but he had a talent ceiling he just couldn't break through. He couldn't hit a deep throw to save himself, and the sad part is the WRs were getting open. 2017 was like giving a playoff caliber team a little better version of Kyron Drones at QB.

We probably give Clemson a game at least, with Kaaya. We definitely beat Pitt, BK had their number. Malik made a lot of runs for us that year that BK never could have made, but Kaaya would have been raining downfield bombs all year

Great man. Brought a professional approach & thankfully had the credibility that administration listened when advised to get their **** together if wanted to be serious about football.

he did make a perfect throw to langham to win the game against FSU, however.

Said this before and at this point I can’t recall which games anymore (think UNC was certainly one) but I recall thinking several times in the moment that with Kaaya and without Malik’s agility we would have dropped multiple games pre-ND and that he saved us a few times just because of his mobility.

Now do we find ourselves in those games close the way we did with more of a true passer? Fair debate. But know I was thankful for Malik’s mobility in the moment(s) for sure.

Here's the reality. The ONLY reason why Richt is in our good graces is because one, he has an awful debilitating disease, and two, he walked away from a lot of money. During the parts of his tenure that I mentioned in my above posts, CIS wanted to kill that man and his son. Facts.
You’re not wrong, but after the dust settles and CIS faithful come to their senses (it takes a while) we see the full picture and that is undeniably that Richt was a good man who sacrificed for the U in a way that I don’t think anyone else would have.

Anyone with a brain can admit that Richt did right by us.
