Mark Richt is gone...

He gave us Manny Diaz, he gave 1 million for the IPF and I am relatively certain he left to keep Diaz in Miami. So move on and look forward. We should be grateful for Mark Richt. Beat FSU twice, won our one and only Coastal. Improved our image nation wide. He loves the U and sacrificed to see us improve. He doesn't need our gratitude but he also does not deserve the negativity so many here keep laying on him. We all know the few negatives but his awareness of the direction we would go without Diaz and it is hard for a HC to fire all his staff but he knew Diaz would assemble a better staff. I know many are waiting for Manny to fail so save your venom for what will NOT happen. We are in a much better place and Mark got us here. Thank YOU for letting me vent, remember Mark is an ALUM before everything else and once a Cane always a Cane.
Mark? Is that you?

He was burned out at UGA and ready to retire, but when the "Golden" opportunity at Miami popped up, with a chance to return the U to greatness, he was invigorated. But that only lasts so long. He was ready to go before the bowl game. Very thankful for all he did and he truly is an honorable man, a solid coach, and a man whose heart is to help his fellow man.

Excellent human being. Poor offensive coordinator. Why’re we Discussing him today?

This thread only gives a platform to all the people you’re trying to shut up.

It’s hypocritical to stop talking about Richt when there is constant criticism of the players under his tutelage.

What is happening now is not occurring in a vacuum. The past determines the present. The present the determines the future. To have a forum worth participating in all aspect past, present, and future are relevant.

I said it in another thread a while back...

Anything that MR has on his ledger that can be construed as negative gets forgiven for walking away without that buyout.

He could have crippled the program going forward if he’d have either stayed and coached cause he wasn’t going to change or tried to get any part of that monstrous buyout. He didn’t do either knowing it’d hurt the program.

For that I will be forever grateful and I hope people remember his part in our assent back to the top.

We all now he took a job he couldn’t turn down(although he should have) but in doing so I think he did his part in rebuilding the []_[]…what I am saying is he gave us manny and if he turns out to be half the coach I see him as being then his footprint is with Diaz
