Mark Pope Twitter

The epitome of today's soft-*** athlete.

Boo hoo, you don't know what we've been through.

Son, it's 2020 and a lot of folks out here are struggling to live, put food on the table, raise their kids / home school, etc. There has never been a time when everyone has literally sacrificed and hurt more—and this clown wants credit for practicing hard. Wow. Talk about a disconnect.

Every college football player in America had a brutal year dealing with COVID protocol and a quirky season.

Catch the football. It's literally your jobs.

These are the first guys to gloat and want all the glory when they succeed—but can't handle the heat or own it when they mess up.

Nothing here has players owning it and vowing to get better—just complaining about the critique.

Clowns—including Diaz if he doesn't put a foot up their *** for this attitude.

Can you imagine Swinney and Saban if a Clemson or Alabama player cried the blues after dropped balls, a two-game losing streak and falling flat after a 62-26 home *** beating?

Pathetic.

This season just got worse and it was already over.

Would love for one day some accountability is shown. Not via social media about what u r & aren’t going to do....but hitting up the jugs machine at different angles immediately. Working on route running, immediately. Working on ur hands, catching the ball w/o gloves, with gloves....I mean, if u know u f’d up, redeem urself by actions, not words

You bashing anyone for social media is way too ironic

He's been through 3 different offenses during his time here. It finally clicked for Harley mid-season. Maybe it will happen for Pope and Wiggins, maybe not. But grown adults bashing them on twitter or here is just sad.
Different offenses have nothing to do with the drops podner, nothing!

You know this isn't exclusive? They both failed. Being a WR means you need to catch the ball. Coaches aren't going to go out there and catch it for you.

And yes, this was a problem through the season and younger player should have gotten more playing time

They been had problems catching the ball, which is why they shouldn't get so many reps.

Benching lights a fire under many players and we don't do it enough. Coaches don't make plays, but they can set their players up to not be able to.

The poor game planning and lack of accountability is setting the team up to fail. I was bullish on Harley and Wiggins in the ofgseason, but they have not developed like I anticipated. Teams all over are fielding freshman that play better than 6 and 8, but we cant get production out of ANY of our guys?

Smith showed more body control on a near touchdown than 6 and 8 have all year. He plays the fastest of all our guys but we can’t find a way for him to help us?

Now the fans are attacking 6 and 8 personally and indignant because they responded?

Harley has stepped up nicely in his 4th year. He has had issues with drops. I hope 6 and 8 can do the same, but won’t lose any sleep if they look for a fresh start.

The time it took you to write that on twitter, you could've had ten passes you could've tried to catch in practice.

Greatness is not achieved with hurt feelings or excuses. Greatness is a mark of excellence because of disciplined hard work.

Ask Jerry Rice or The Playmaker the amount of effort they put on the field to be great at something.

Leonard Hankerson had a case of the drops. Instead of complaining about what he went through, he worked with Mark Duper and the following season, made some of the most ridiculous grabs I've ever seen. He got drafted; right now you aren't.

What will you be going forward? Are you going to commit to your craft? Or are you just happy being 'good'?

Because excellence, in any endeavor of life, requires hard work and dedication.

Put the phone down and get to work young man.

That's levelheaded and I can fully get behind that. Players fully develop in to their potential at a different rate.

But we should NOT expect our coaches to have to teach a WR to do the basics, like catching a ball. At that point then the coaches should be shredded to pieces for giving a scholarship to a WR that can't catch. Which studying the last 15 years of UM football isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Amazing that this sht is even being discussed.
I remember ESPN showing Jabril Peppers practicing on a jugs machine. He was doing it form like 15 yards and trying to catch the ball one handed with either hand.
then he would slowly move closer and closer until his hand was literally next to the jugz machine and catching the balls one handed one hand at a time.
AND THAT MFER WAS A **** LINEBACKER!!!!!!
We have mfers on here arguing over a dude and it’s obvious some of you must know this young man from how personal you seem to take the criticism.
This ain’t Stetson on Wagner. This is the University of Miami.
We keep *****ing about recruiting right?
Well then why would I want to come “compete” if I can’t sit a man down who can’t do the basic job of catching the **** ball.
We’re not complaining that pope and Wiggins got shut down by some future nfl player.
we are literally talking about catching the ball.

Stop defending what can’t be defended. it’s like defending a slow running back or a running back that constantly fumbles. Coordinators and coaches ain’t got sht to do with you not catching a ball between the numbers or in your bread basket. I can’t believe some of you are sticking up for him. Jeezus.

The dude is literally not putting the blame on himself for not catching the ball and saying he’s been through a lot. The fugg is that sht??!!!

...see a lot of internet tough guys here calling these young men names. Funny, you would not stand a chance against any of these players if you confronted them on the street or field. But the internet gives you wings, like Red Bull.

Do you think they go out of their way to drop the ball? They don't. They are trying hard, and some are not up to par. But that has to do with our lack of depth at WR and chronic instability at the HC ranks for over 15 years.
**** look at this loser with excuses

CATCH THE **** BALL!!!

that’s it!!!

lmao that’s it!! Nothing else CATCH THE **** BALL!!

Imagine BAMA watching our films as the look at each other with SMH looks but they’ll prepare as if we’re a power 5 team threatening there NC run .

Bad stuff coming our way and we are helpless in stopping it in any way.

All of this because jit can’t do the basic and most fundamental part of his job and that’s to catch the **** football. Ain’t no criticism of route running, run blocking, just simply catch the **** ball. Lol y’all really in here arguing over this ****?

I know, I already acknowledged that. My point was that he's stuck through a lot of transition and doesn't deserve to have grown men treating him like crap. I'm not talking about criticism, but bashing.
