Mark Pope to defensive back

One or two posters called this months **** maybe years ago so props to them. Thought it was a joke. He has the size, speed and makeup of a CB. Does he have the "dog" to be one though is the question. **** Cenn Conn is absolutely the game you use to just try any **** thing. Its a dress rehearsal for the meat of the schedule. Time to shorten the roster and find out who is going to play the rest of the way and who is going to go the way of Kai Herbert and get up outta here.

Just like the Tate Martell WR experiment, this will work out well. And Pope is not Shields. Stop it with the comparison. I can’t wait to see this on the Depth Chart:

CB - Tyrique Stevenson - OR -
Mark Pope

Sam Shields was a lot faster than Pope.

...Why do this?

If you were going to do this, you do it preseason and at least give the guy a chance to learn something.

What's the idea? Is Pope so allergic to catching the ball the staff thinks he'll infect opposing players?

This has been the obvious move for years. Does it want it bad enough to be physical & put in the work?? I hope so.

Mark Pope to defensive back
Savviest coaching move by Manny and his staff since Tate Martell evacuated to slot receiver. 😏 (edit: h/t Pipo)

Classic "throw **** up against the wall" maneuver as seat gets hotter and hotter

he was afraid of being hit, now he's supposed to like hitting?
Pope runs like a scared cat for crying out loud.

All for trying to find ways to help players find success, but the rough and tumble part of football ain't for everybody.

Pope at CB would make Deion Sanders look like Rat Marley
