Mark Pope to defensive back

The feet and fluidity are there, but then again they were there for him at WR too. The mindset just isn’t.

If he can’t go and catch a ball away from his body or break a tackle, how does one expect him to MAKE a tackle?

I'm sure he'll end up being the best tackler on the team. Not saying much but in this clown world we're living in, it only makes sense.

I said he was a DB 3 years ago. It’s the best position for him. He could be a very good corner . He moves like a corner and flips his hips like one.

Pope needs to sit out this year and RS…practice at corner this year in practice, abd be ready fully next season as a DB

Yeah I was on campus when Shields showed up and he was a legend for showing up the upperclassman on Greentree. Made some high level 20-22 y/o DBs look silly when he was barely 18. It was the right move for him, can't say if this is the right move for Pope based purely on timing.
I watched him in HS....Absolutely electrifying

You dont have anything to lose and I dont think Mark is an *******, so I will root for him to make this work. Heck, Troy Brown and Julian Edelman made it work too...

With that being said, we will cover slot receivers with safeties, so...

just saying that Shields played as a WR for 3 years then switched to CB his senior season (although I think it happened during the spring so he had a full spring/summer/fall of practice).

yeah this is too late for Pope and he's probably too soft for CB as well but just an example that if it's a better natural fit, maybe he can still get into the league based on his combine and then make a career out of it.. if i remember correctly Shields ran a sub 4.4 during the combine...

He can get a medical RS somehow and play CB next year...

I feel bad for a bunch of these kids. I’m finding it difficult to laugh at them.
