Mark Pope Contemplating A Transfer To UF.....

Some kids transfer. Way more have toughed it out for nearly two decades for an institution that clearly gave zero ***** about them or the program. Tailgating and cheering isn’t the same as the sacrifices most of our team makes. Not every kid is great, not every kid tries hard enough, but fans making sweeping comments about our players because of a few transfers seems off.
Nobody is talking about the kids who stuck it out..if you have to be talked into not transferring after every season are you busting your *** for the logo on your uni or the name on the back?..FYI I have no problem with a kid doing either one or both

Makes no sense how people are Ragging Pope the kid hasn't had a ton of PT. This site would have lost it if he went to Bama and was lighting it up. He has the talent out coaches just suck and aren't putting him in good positions. I guess I'm in the minority these are the guys we need to keep to win the coastal. At this rate if we keep bleeding guys we may win 4 games

he played this year and didnt look amazing. also, alogn with that, its a dumb move to transfer bc he wont getting a waiver unless he has a sick dad too that lives magically within 150 miles of gainesville

Let Pope go to UF... he sucks... bet he never starts there either.

Well, if he's just thinking about it at least he is not dreaming about it. The latter is a bit creepy.

These cats will go somewhere else and actually be used properly which is sad. Everyone said Cager wouldn't even sniff the field in Georgia when healthy he was a key piece on their offense. Can't get mad when they are leaving this **** show for a better team that cares about football.
Stop with the Cager nonsense. Georgia picked him up because they had no one left on their roster. His season with Georgia consisted of all of fewer than 35 catches, fewer than 450 yards, only 4 TDs (2 less than when he was with us in 2019 despite only having 20-some catches with us), and a per-catch average 3 yards lower than last year with us. He was not some star player for Georgia. His stats were that of a solid contributor, not a star or top tier player. He could have been replaced with any of dozens of WR's around the nation with the same results.

Brock’s comment that I responded to was “Do any of these guys love Miami like the way fans do?”.

I disagree. He doesn't "suck". He has yet to show anything, even when given playing time, but he has potential. If he transfers, that would be really stupid on his part, as he's set to get a lot more playing time next year given the departure of Osborn and JT. It's up to him to make the most of it. This past year, he didn't do the greatest job of getting separation, and he had a tendency to tackle himself by tripping over his own feet. Doesn't mean the talent that made him a high level recruit isn't there...but he needs to man up, work hard, and prove it.

I hate these threads about transferring players that open the door to any crap our “fans” want to unleash.
no information about the transfer, just bile

I've said the same for 2 years...Transferrin' porsts got nothin' to do with it

And Brock is right..but that’s the truth around all of college football. Majority of these kids don’t go to the schools out of love. South Florida kids aren’t flocking to the Sec because they grew up fans of Bama/UGA. They see a ticket to the league. Fans have a unconditional love for their teams. Players for the most part have conditional love for the school they sign up for. On condition that their talents abd vision are maximized..it’s not how it used to be. Especially in soflo. There’s no loyalty down here

I know some of these kids arent very smart but why in the world would Pope want to leave and sit out next year (no grounds for a waiver) instead of having the chance to play a ton and finally show what he can do considering the WR position is fairly thin right now for UM

They haven't recruited well at RB so of course they would take Lingard who still has tons of speed and Mullen will likely find some way to get him the ball in space. Pope I have my doubts about that they care either way if the get him. Pitts will be featured in their O pretty heavily next year and I think Grimes and Toney are coming back along with some of their other receivers and freshman coming in. Pope would likely be buried there just like he was here.

Doubt Mullen would take Pope unless he's losing more receivers than expected.

Personally, I'd like any kid who doesn't want to be here to leave. If we have to rebuild from a group of walkons, so be it! So ******* tired of catering to this mindset year in and year out.

Exactly. If he's as good as he thinks he is, this is his big opportunity. WR room is depleted as far as experienced players go. He hopefully by now has learned how to study a playbook (something that was a criticism of him in the past). He will have a new OC who will run a more wide open spread system, which means more opportunities for the WRs. Plus a new OC won't be harboring any past issues with him, it will be a fresh start. So man up and show what you supposedly can do. Makes more sense than sitting out a year.

Dude hasn't progressed body wise since high school. UF can have him

Kid needs to get the playbook. Plays like he’s got no clue what he’s doing

I'd prefer he stay and see if he can star in the new O, but if he wants out, he can ride the pine in Gainesville. They have like 7 or 8 WR's returning and he would be in line to start in a Spread and fast paced O here, but as always with these kids - they know better.
