2027 Mark Matthews 5* OL from STA Commits to TAMU

The staff is still pushing really hard to flip this kid, so the work ethic 'issues' don't seem to be a concern for the staff

Haha nope. My brother’s wife has a younger sister who fancies herself an IG model/fitness influencer. Perhaps my wording was awful, but that’s who went on the date

Tatum is an OG all day. I’m assuming you meant someone else.
If he comes in here and starts over the likes of Congdon/Max at OG or starts/plays any significant snaps at OT as a pup at 6’3 then we have a bigger issue.

Is Congdon a G long term or a T? If G, then I think your lineup makes sense, except that I see ervin and Hawks splitting reps. I think SJ will be the starting center next year, like it or not. With the players currently on the roster I see:

LT: Cantwell
LG: Pickett / Tatum rotation - this spot is my biggest ??
C: SJ
RG Buchanan
RT: Congdon - Ervin subbing in during blowouts
 
We need a portal OT with experience, someone to push the 2026 guys. Cantwell/Ervin/Hawks won’t be and shouldn’t be guaranteed anything. After this season and what we have dealt with early this season with the IOL playing 2 new starters, I’d be SHOCKED if they did that next year with OTs. The group needs competition.

They're going to want Ervin, Congdon, and Cantwell on the field at the same time. I'll leave it up to the staff to decide what positions these guys play. Mario and Mirbal must be ecstatic

Way too many people are writing off Ervin. He'd be getting a lot of snaps right now if he didn't miss so much time in camp. I still wouldn't be shocked if we saw him at some point later this season (late in games)

I'll leave that decision to the staff. I did forget about Rhys Woodrow, who I think can easily win the starting Center spot next year. We will see how it plays out

Eh, I don't see Congdon at tackle - if he continues on his trajectory, why move him?

More likely, I see Ervin and Hawks.

Tatum is all guard, imo, which is great because we're gonna need the depth there (along with Pickett). Ford is the interesting developmental - could be a nice diamond in the rough kid at tackle.

Staff seems more likely to add a JUCO OT than a portal OT. Did find it interesting that Meriweather (rather than Hawks, Cantwell or Wilkerson) was the one who replaced McCoy against Clemson as well.

SJ has improved for sure games 4 and 5 he’s been looking pretty good except on that 4 and short against Clemson. I agree he can be a top 10 center
