Mark Fletcher..remember when?

My problem with all the doubters is that Fletcher runs with a bruising style. He is only now an upper classmen. Meaning this is the first season that he isn’t running into and against older players. Anyone who runs with Fletcher’s style will look better as they become older and stronger.

The flip side is a speed back who can look very good even as a freshman because speed doesn’t change AS MUCH as strength from 18/19 to 20/21. If you look back at all the really good Bama RB’s, we were first seeing them get a few carries as freshmen and sophomores. It wasn’t until they were 3-4 years into the program that we really saw them become national names. Why? Because they took a few years to physically develop.

Fletcher will be even better next season as he will be older and stronger.

It’s also okay to say that he has gotten much better. The sign of a good player and a good program is improvement
He's been good but last year and mostly this year he's really used his size to run people over whoch has been awesome.

Why do you think he cant replicate it ? you dont. think. our oline will be good again?

as of current we have no QB, the OL is all SR and JR so we in theory could lose our whole OL, a lot of key pieces on defense are going to graduate or go pro as well so a lot of turnover there as well.

plus he's going on a generational run in the playoffs.... we also in the regular season don't really feature one back, which is good for later in the season bc they can all end up healthy if you make it this far, but you have to make it this far, which is never a given.

nfl draft is what have you done for me lately.....

Oh and Mark is now over 1,000 yards for the season.

Fletcher isn't above some of the criticism he's taken.

But Fletcher also deserves ALL of the praise he's getting right now.

He's gone to a whole other level during the playoffs. He's running like a man possessed.

And his timing couldn't be any better.

He still shouldn't be here next year though. Idk why anyone would think he shouldn't enter the draft. I said that should be the case when I thought there was more of a fringe chance he'd be drafted. Now I'd guarantee he is drafted by like the 5th round. He should declare for the draft. Probably would ***** us a bit since he said he'd return and we went for nobody in the portal, but oh well... Imo he should go.

Yes, I remember this claim as well!
Funny thing is poor old Cam used to get trashed on this site as well.
Absolutely trashed lol. But it’s really because everything is relative. He was a CC kid who wasn’t beloved coming out like Trayone Gray and he had the unfortunate timing of coinciding and following up Travis Homer & Deejay Dallas who are still collecting NFL checks

We had a strong string of NFL RBs that he broke the chain on but that’s not his fault. He was never great enough to be a feature back: much better as a RB2 or RB3 if the first two are Homer + Dallas. Lorenzo Lingard was supposed to be our feature back and he was a bust. So that disappointment got transferred over to Harris.

After Frank Gore there was a little 1-2 year lull, then when Jarvaris James (2006) enrolled the chain was restarted and went unbroken until Harris/Chaney/Knighton/Franklin/Burns bunch within 2020 to 2022.

Not counting Brashard Smith cuz he was a WR here; only need one carry to count as a NFL back—I feel confident Fletcher restarted the chain in 2023.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong cuz I was born in ‘96 and became a fan in 2008 lol.

As much as he's been tearing it up this postseason running the ball, he still hasn't had a rushing TD. Hard to believe.
